Publisher's summary

Audie Award Finalist, Paranormal, 2014

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails.

Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it. And that the most powerful demon in the ever after - the soul-eater Ku'Sox Sha-Ku'ru - has vowed to destroy Rachel, and has kidnapped her friend and goddaughter as leverage. If Rachel doesn’t give herself up, they will die.

Forced by circumstance, Rachel teams up with elven tycoon Trent Kalamack - a prospect fraught with dangers of the heart as well as betrayal of the soul - to return to the ever after and rescue those she loves.

Both worlds teeter on the brink, one on a possible interspecies war, the other for its very existence, and it’s up to Rachel to keep both from being destroyed.

A must hear, refreshingly delicious book series.

Rachel Morgan infuriates me, with her decisions yet still comes out on top with wit and the sheer power of will, great story and endless laughs in between bouts of anger sadness and fear. lady Gavin brings this life to a real memory with her voice and Kim Harrison her vision to fruition they are a duo to be held in great honor for the rollercoaster of a ride that is Rachel Morgan's life.

A great addition to the sereis

This was my least favorite book out of all of them and by far the least memorable. Huge and I do mean huge changes take place in this book, but main characters weren’t given a proper end in my opinion. I understand why Harrison killed them off because it makes room for her the final story arc, but I don’t feel like their end did them justice. They deserved better. I wanted better for them.
Rachel is once again forced to face Ku’Sox who is a genuinely evil Demon worth the name unlike all of the other Demons who seem to cower and live boring lives of inaction in the Ever After. However, I do still like Al, and this book shows more of his depth.
In Ever After I found that Rachel could be so frustrating, it seemed like she caused most of her problems especially problems like Nick who is like a bad penny. But I guess that’s what makes Rachel, Rachel. She doesn’t compromise her morals to do what is easy.
There is a lot of Trent in the book, and it’s the story pics up the pace towards the end. However, weird decisions are made on everyone's account that just seem to fit Harrisons whim instead of making any real sense.
Overall I am giving this one 4 Boundless Stars, it is still a great installment to the series, and the narration is fantastic.

Brilliant!

This is an excellent addition to one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series. Kim Harrison writes a beautiful story richly layered with wonderful characters, action, adventure, love, and heart break.

All my favorite characters are in this book and we get a peek at an unexpected side of both Trent Calamack and Al. Make sure to listen or read these books in order for the full experience. Marguerite Gavin does a terrific job with her narration. This is my second favorite in the series second only to Pale Demon.

another freat story

Follow=up of Rachel's unbalanced life, moving into a more serious relationship with trent, with some loss of great characters in this book, I love it..
Ms Gavin is in my top 5 of narrators and once again she is spot on in her voices, I can so picture each one by her voice..

Rachel Morgan Finally Comes into Her Own

What made the experience of listening to Ever After the most enjoyable?

The reader does an excellent job of rendering each of the characters in this book, keeping the "suspension of disbelief" in effect without interruption from misqueued character voices. Listening to the book was exciting and as gripping as if I'd had the book in my hands, reading for dear life!

What did you like best about this story?

Kim H. has brought Rachel Morgan's story a very long way since the beginning of the series and in this book, it's a great satisfaction to see her growth and that of the characters she deals with. Kudos to Kim on this.

What does Marguerite Gavin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Voice shows moods and intonation that it's just impossible to get from reading the words. Great interpretation by Marguerite here.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Actually tried to but hadda sleep sometime!

Any additional comments?

Only that I heartily recommend this installation in the Rachel Morgan series. Those of you who have followed from the beginning will really enjoy this one.

Love the series....

Would you consider the audio edition of Ever After to be better than the print version?

I am addicted to audible. I read the first few books of this series and when I discovered audible I down loaded several of them... The reader takes you away and into the story... I will listen to these stories over and over...

Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

A Great Reader.....

Any additional comments?

I'll be waiting for the next one to come out.....
