Editorial reviews

With a full cast production, this highly-entertaining dramatization of the award-winning military science fiction story Ender's Game will wow fans as well as listeners new to this classic. Using an original screenplay written by Orson Scott Card himself, the audioplay takes listeners through Battle School with prodigy Ender Wiggin.

The cast fleshes out their characters with full personalities and motivations - in particular, the actors who portray the children at Battle School do a wonderful job in bringing out their precociousness and fading innocence. The action scenes are brisk and electrifying, and listeners will be swept up in the events of the story.

I read the book several years ago & have watched the movie, being able to listen to it made it stand out even more.

It is so good

It’s been a long time since I got lost in a book like this. It really is a masterpiece. Never felt board or uninterested. If I could’ve, I would’ve listened to it straight through without stopping.

very entertaining

This audio play was a good adaptation of the book. It feels like there are a few details left out if you have already read the original book in paper like I did but if you haven't you'd not know the difference. over all this was a very entertaining 7.5 hours.

Almost perfect!

It was hard to reconcile the children being voiced by adults in my brain, and they had to change up some of the storytelling to fit the performance since they only cover dialogue, there is none of Enders inner monologue. I have not read the book in at least 5 years, so it might just be me remembering things wrong though. But the storytelling is well done and I was thoroughly engrossed the entire time.

What a blast!!

Beautiful voice acting. Nice music. Masterful writing. I also appreciate that they don’t cuss in this book.

good rendition but a bit of book

I liked the voice actors and the pacing. the use of full narrative instead of descriptive was really well done. I also like the fact that they introduced elements from the shadow books. however, they changed the ending in a way that was more reminiscent of the movie serenity than the book and that threw me for a loop.

A unique listen

Listening this way was like listening to a movie . It’s unique because you just hear the characters talking like in a movie but no narration of the small in-between details, to fill the space there is music and sound . It’s fully immersive . I love the full cast telling it makes the characters come alive. You just have to remember how young the protagonist is. It can be difficult at times because they chose a older voice to play him; it suits the story well. This book was a great listen for my road trip. It got me the whole way to my destination .
