"Christopher Paolini is a true rarity."—The Washington Post

Darkness falls… despair abounds… evil reigns… Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have just saved the rebel state from destruction by the mighty forces of King Galbatorix. Now Eragon must travel to Ellésmera, land of the elves, for further training in the skills of the Dragon Rider: magic and swordsmanship. But chaos and betrayal plague him at every turn, and nothing is what it seems. Before long, Eragon doesn’t know whom he can trust.

Will the king’s dark hand strangle all resistance? Eragon may not escape with even his life. . . .

But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? Eldest

Excellent story, artfully read aloud by narrator. I anxiously await the next book, called Brisinger.

Fantastic

I have always loved the stories that Christopher Paolini weaves, and with Gerard Doyle as the voice for this series makes the story immersion that much better, they could not have picked a better voice for the series.

Excellent Sequence to Eragon

Loved how the story develops around Eragon training with the elves, learns more about magic and Rorin saves the Villagers from Karvah

very well done

Im not sure what these people complaining about the dragons voice being rough. ita a FREAKING DRAGON, its NOT REAL it can sound like what ever they make it sound like. You try breathing fire then sound like Queen Elizabeth 1. I have no issues hearing or understanding the reader at any point in time.

My thoughts

It was an amazing story, though not a fan of Sapheras voice. Still fantastic though.
