Slow pace

Obviously we'll written, but the excessive plotting, reflection and introspection results in a sluggish story.

Too many readers

Having multiple readers (not just doing the voices, but reading whole chapters) was a massive mistake, and certainly detracted from the book.

Good performance, mediocre book

Loads of dialog, very little plot action. A fine performance by the voice actors.

Narration is weird but great other than that

Great book and the narrators themselves are great but like Dune, they switch all the time, even mid-scene. Very uneven

Meh, not nearly as good as book 1

Meh, not nearly as good as book 1, just as well that it was much shorter.

Greatest Epilogue of all time

It completes the story of Paul perfectly. It’s difficult to explain without giving away important details.
I would recommend anyone who enjoyed the first book to give this a listen as well. The only disappointing thing is the length of the book following the epic size of Dune.

Charming, Brilliant, and Beautifully Written

I was worried when reading some of the reviews stating that this sequel fell below expectations. But now I think there was a misunderstanding from those readers. No spoilers, but you could guess that most of the momentum of Paul's story slows down. But that doesn't make it less interesting. Lots of musing and plotting. What does a god-king do once he gets there? So many questions I should have thought of have been asked and commented and answered in this book. These books aren't low-hanging sci-fi.

My only MINOR complaint is the different narrators. The narrator from the last book is only here for a few chapters, and he's amazing and spot-on as always. The other narrators were good but couldn't match him. But it's still easily worth the listen!

Not as great as the first one

I started this book immediately after finishing the first one, I was on such a high. However, the plot was really hard to focus on. Not much happened.
