NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE directed by Denis Villeneuve, starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgård, and Charlotte Rampling

Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Muad'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family—and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

A stunning blend of adventure and mysticism, environmentalism and politics, Dune won the first Nebula Award, shared the Hugo Award, and formed the basis of what is undoubtedly the grandest epic in science fiction. Frank Herbert's death in 1986 was a tragic loss, yet the astounding legacy of his visionary fiction will live forever.

Great classic

Great story but I wish they used the same narrators for voices throughout. It bounces around a lot but still a great listen.

Great story, poor production.

The constant change in readers is too distracting. Furthermore, a number of readers are soulless in their delivery. This is a rare case where I recommend the print edition over the audio book.

love it!!!

it was more than what I expected. beautiful, intriguing, mind boggling with more details than the mini series could ever hope to include.

Narration weirdness.

The narration was great, but some character voices (Stilgar and Gurney) changed mid way through then went back to the original actor at the end.

One of my favorite series.

I read the original 6 books about 25 years ago, still have them in paperback. It is wonderful to now have them on audio so I can hear the story and still get other things done. Just finished listening to the first book. The narrators were very good and kept me enthralled throughout. I hope the rest are as good.

Excellent listen

What an incredible story and performance. People have complained that they use actors for only some of the dialogue which was somewhat distracting and I have to agree. Also made some parts a little confusing. However, this doesn't detract too much from the brilliance of the story.
