Publisher's summary

Now the people know that the dragon minions of Takhisis, Queen of Dragons, have returned. The people of all nations prepare to fight to save their homes, their lives, and their freedom. But the races have long been divided by hatred and prejudice. Elven warriors and human knights fight among themselves. It seems the battle has been lost before it begins.

The companions are separated, torn apart by war. A full season will pass before they meet again - if they meet again. As the darkness deepens, a disgraced knight, a pampered elf maiden, and a rattle-brained kender stand alone in the pale winter sunlight.

Not much in the way of heroes.

So good

The narrator is a little too dry in his reading. He misses a lot of jokes and lightheartedness in his reading. It was still very very good, though. I do not dislike the narration and the story was as good as I had remembered.

A well performed excellent piece of written fantasy. It takes its reader to another land.

I really enjoyed it.

it's the second book in the series that I've listened to and I must say I've enjoyed them both. Great story and really cool performance.

Boehmer's performance wow!

I was amazed at Paul Boehmer's reading of a classic fantasy novel from my youth. He is incredibly talented.

A Tale of Honor

I read the book as a kid, and loved it. But I missed so much of the meaning, universal meaning in its pages that I can see now as an adult. This is an incredible story of everyday life told through the mist of might and magic, Gods and superstition, hate and love. And our narrator does an incredible job of bringing the words to life in telling the story.

Great story

A great story with many touching and humorous parts. Although the narrator sounded a bit like the brain, from pinky and the brain.

adventure continues

I love the dragonlance chronicles. I know that these are from the 80s but still full of wonder. the performance could be. a little better but i enjoyed it. Tasslehoff is the best.

Great Story!

Such a great fantasy story. I read this decades ago and it still holds up. I think the narration is solid. Definitely worth a listen.
