Still amazing!
I originally read this book about 30 years ago. I loved it then and have reread it many times.
This was my first time listening to the audiobook. Dick Hill did a wonderful job with the narration. Highly recommend!!

A classic
I absolutely love this story, have read the physical copy a couple of times This narrator's Voice is so creepy. I will search four versions of Pern on audio with a different narrator.

Still an all-time favorite
I read this book years ago with great enjoyment. Now having binged the audiobook in about two days it's still an all-time favorite and rekindled my interest in Pern.
It took a little bit to get used to the narrator and sound, but there's no distraction after the first chapter or so. (Note: I listened at 1.5x and needed to use an equalizer to lower bass and add some treble. So your audio experience with be different depending on settings and speakers.)

As captivating to hear as it was to read! PERN!!!!
I read this novel nearly 30 years ago. It enthralled me then and created a love for Pern that I've never lost, and only grew with each new installment. From that first page, Anna McCaffrey made an avid fan of this series. She also became my favorite author of all time, and her loss was felt keenly.
I had put off listening to the audio version, thinking it could never live up to the glory in my own head. I WAS WRONG! Dick Hill gave this book the life it deserved, well done Mr. Hill, well done!
I am now a fan of this series in a new medium and just as enthralled as ever.

my all time favorite book series
A good reading of this book only one minor error in that file where the audio repeats the exact same passage twice. The series does have some minor inconsistencies and details that get mixed up but still my all time favorite.

Dragonflight
Anne McCaffrey has the most vivid imagination. I started reading these books 30 years ago and they are still just as good today as they were then. Having an audio just makes it better! She likes dragons come to life in a way no one other else ever could! I’d recommend any of her books. I have read them all.My all-time favorite author!

Overall Good
I found the the start of this book was a little hard to follow and get in to but stuck with it. The story did all come together for me. I really enjoyed this book and the 3 part series as a whole.

Yes, I got an Audible.com account just to get all my Anne McCaffrey books.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Its so hard to pick, but I would say in this particular book, Robinton.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Oh, I dont usually sit still while I am listening unless I am in the car. Listening helps me get things done and makes boring household duties worth doing.
