Publisher's summary

Catherine Tate reads this exclusive, thrilling story, in which the Doctor and Donna are imprisoned on the Edifice and become neighbours to a terrifying assortment of aliens.

When the TARDIS is invaded by a holographic marketing scam, the Doctor and Donna find themselves trapped on the Edifice, a purpose-built complex of luxury apartments in space. Their new environs leave much to be desired: millions of beings from across the Universe have been gathered to live side by side in similar apartments.

Instead of creating neighbourly affection, it's led to terrible battles being waged in the corridors and on the stairwells. The Doctor and Donna must cross the paths of deadly alien mobs as they search for the Edifice's ultimate authority. Who, or what, lies at the heart of the incredible complex? What destructive scourge is eating away at the Edifice itself? And are the Doctor and Donna trapped forever in this living hell?

The Forever Trap features the Doctor and Donna as played by David Tennant and Catherine Tate in the hit BBC Television series Doctor Who. It was written specially for audio by Dan Abnett.

Enjoyed while listening but a bit forgettable

When a need a Doctor Who fix it is sometimes nice to listen to an audio read by one of the cast. Catherine Tate is a good narrator and does manage to capture some of the voice of David Tennant's Doctor. I thought the plot of the story reminded me very much of the type of story Donna and The Doctor would get involved in with Donna being tricked by a spam holographic sales agent. I have to admit though having listened to it several weeks ago, I had almost completely forgotten the plot until restarting it this morning and then thinking oh yes I have listened to it before.

Better then most

this dr. who book is better then most (which doesn't say much for most of the doctor who books). Catherine Tate is also the reader. It's hard to go wrong with such a talented actress and comedian reading the story.

Just OK

Much as I love Catherine Tate's role as Donna Noble in the TV shows, she's really not a great narrator. She wasn't able to do a good job of the Doctor's voice, and the narration sections just sounded like Donna. And as much as I've enjoyed Dan Abnett's other Doctor Who and Torchwood stories, this isn't among the better ones.
