Dated epic fantasy but still relevant

This military fantasy continues the story of Paks as a veteran soldier. Despite being a Mary Sue character, Paks doesn’t have it easy. She has to mature and make her own decisions. And the author is willing to throw her character into harsh situations. You know she will survive but it still has the appropriate tension to keep the reader interested. Plus this second book actually advanced the plot I liked it more than the first installment.

Great but hard

this is my third time reading the series. I have fallen in love with Paks and all of her adventures. This book in the series is a little hard as the Hero does always win and you are left defeated but push throw as our hero must as well.

Loving the flawed heroine!

There are times when I find much of the SF/Fantasy genre writers spend too much time outfitting their heros with superpowers and fabulous items that make them almost unassailable. Paksenarrion is not such a character, and Elizabeth Moon is not such a writer. Nuance and subtlety, wrong-headedness and petty disputes, those all-too-human traits, abound in this series, right along with the grand struggle against evil. I would highly recommend buying this and the third book together. You'll want to dive right into the next one when you finish this!

Perfect narration once again by Jennifer Van Dyck

Could not stop listening wonderful!!!

What did you love best about Divided Allegiance?

Wonderful story Paksenarrion courage and natural ability to just understand what needs to be done in the face of danger. I would love just a tiny pinch of that.

What other book might you compare Divided Allegiance to and why?

The First Law series by Joe Abercrombie they seem to have the same personalities the only difference is that our hero had a family and he is haunted by them but then he starts a new life with a lot of adventure. I would to read the las book though...........AUDIO WHERE IS IT!!!!

Have you listened to any of Jennifer Van Dyck’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not listened to any other of her book but I will make sure to look for it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

No I would not make a film they are always messed up and I can not beleave that any book writer would allow people to change anything just to make money. Look at Christopher Paolini's wonderful story they messed up his wonderful book with that so called movie and cut out the real story nothing made sense.

Excellent series

Very detailed at times but allows you to feel like your part of the story. Excellent story that draws you in to Pak's life.

Rise & Fall

This second book chronicles the rise and fall of Paksenarrion. It ends on a sad note, but leaves you longing for more.
