A Must Listen

I'm always looking for romance that ate funny. This has a great story line and the characters makes it fun.

Wow. Excellent story and Narrator stellar

Dianne Duvall is an incredible writer. Her character development and imagery immerse the reader from the first page. I read the novel first as the audiobook was released a few months later. I enjoyed Kirsten Potter's narration immensely. She brings so much to the words of the author.

I've had this book for a while now but hadn't listened to it until now. Now I'm kicking myself in the butt for not getting to it sooner. The world Duvall has created is truly unique making it stand out from other PNR's. I love her viewpoint on the creation of the immortal guardians and vampires. This isn't your typical vampire romance.

Kitten Potter's performance of this book was spectacular! Her voices and timing were great. I particularly like the way she narrated the sex scene. She was breathy and everything lending a very authentic feel to the scene.

I highly recommend giving this book a try. I grabbed the second book to the series and can't wait to start it!

So Good

I started this series with The Lasaran, not knowing about the other series. I listened to all of those before finding these. I freaking love it

Nice flow of the story, show and tell wonderful.

Characters all interaction flowed naturally, loved the f/l Character with verbal comedy spurts ...m/l loved his personality...

I Got the Warm Fuzzies

This looks like it will be a great new series for those who like romantic fantasy on the steamy side. Admittedly, there are some marked resemblances to other books in this sub genre. I noticed similarities to the work of S. Kenyon, L. Sands, and C. Feehan. I'm rating this book, however, on it's own merit. Not everyone will have read those other authors' series before reading this one.

The book is well paced, with steamy romance scenes. It is not material suitable for young teens, in my opinioin. What I really enjoyed in this book was how well the action scenes flowed. Fight scenes have a way of losing my interest, but these were written and read in such a way as to keep me involved.

The narrator did a fine job overall, although her male voices were on the weak side. I only gave her 4 stars because while it's only one thing, given that most of the characters in this book are male, it's an important flaw in the narration.

For me, the true sign of a book's worth is how it makes me feel when I finished. If a book in a series ends with a "cliffhanger", I feel unsatisfied. If a book ends on a bad note, I feel cheated. This book finished it's story beautifully and completely. Oh, there's a teaser to inspire you to continue reading the series, but the main story between the focal couple ended in a satisfying way. Well done!

I bought this book because of "L"'s review, she knows her stuff. this was a great read, great narration too. Can't wait for more from Dianne Duvall.

Excellent!!

I found this book to be a great listen, well performed, with a well written story line. I enjoyed this very much and am waiting for the next in this series. If you like Nallini Singh's series, you will like this one as well.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

I've listened to this book multiple times (I loved it so much I had to listen more than once). The characters are believable (assuming you can believe in the supernatural) the romance is sweet and sucks you in and the action keeps things interesting. I've listened to many books and this is one of my all time favorites. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great action/romance. This book gets 2 thumbs up from me!
