ABRIDGED VERSION IS DISAPPOINTING

This wonderful story was butchered for this abridged version. I am very disappointed. The sound was horrid. Adrienne Barbeau wouldn't be my first choice for narrator. This series needs to be re-produced, full length. Jennifer Ikeda is my recommendation for narration. DO BETTER AUDIBLE !!!

I don't like that this story is abridged .

Love this author, and series. I just wish this was the whole book, not an abridged version.

Good Vibes

Anne McCaffrey strikes again! 9/10!

The audio quality was poor, but the story was good. I remembered parts of it from my childhood, when I listened and didn't understand some of it. The characters are vivid and real, and there's a charm about being close to the "normal" one that's going through extraordinary circumstances. While Killashandra and I would never get along in real life, we are similar enough that it was a real pleasure to see her side of the beginning of this story.

Cursing is replaced primarily with words like "shards." References to sex, but no "steamy" scenes. Some injuries described, but no disturbing visuals. Very tactfully handled.

Anne McCaffrey ittha might all time favorite!

Annw McCaffrey has such a wonderful writing style. Her tales wrap you up in them, so that you lose time and just wanna stay there.

Narrator Butchered It

I loved the story of The Crystal Singer, but the narrator made it difficult to enjoy. She read so fast it sounded like she was being paid by WPM (words per minute). An as far as trying to differentiate between characters, there was barely (if any) effort. The Crystal Singer deserves better.

Abridged version makes the story worse...!

Unfortunately, this abridged version is pretty choppy. An unabridged version would be appreciated! However, the reader does well.

Too much kissing and junk! I how the rest of the series isn't this nauseating.

One of my FAVORITES

I cannot tell y’all how MANY times I’ve read this book, and the next 2. Anne McCaffrey has been an amazing friend for years, through her characters and storylines. It’s only recently that I’ve discovered the wonder of audiobooks.

The narrator had good characterization, her reading speed was quick which was mostly awesome, tho occasionally slurred together. Also occasionally sounded like she wasn’t quite facing into the mic. But overall well done and I’ll DEFINITELY be listening to this trilogy again and again!

Chrystal love

Anne McCaffrey has created a world of wonderful characters you can feel for. Killashandra is a strong personality and a likeable person with real problems to overcome. A very good read.

Good story, narration needs work

I’m a huge fan of Anne Mccaffery and adore the Crystal Singer series, but the narrator sounds like she’s running a foot race. She speaks too fast and has very little inflection. Really ruined the story for me.
