Publisher's summary

How do you keep the people you care about safe from enemies you can’t remember? Ten years ago, Nate Garrett awoke on a cold warehouse floor with no memory of his past and the only clues to his identity were a piece of paper with his name on it and a propensity toward magic. Now he’s a powerful sorcerer and a successful thief for hire, but it turns out that those who stole his memories aren’t done with him yet. When they cause a job to go bad, threatening a sixteen-year-old girl, Nate swears to protect her. But with his enemies closing in and the barrier holding back his memories beginning to crumble, Nate is forced to confront his forgotten life in the hope of stopping an enemy he can’t remember. Crimes Against Magic is a dark, fast-paced urban fantasy torn between modern-day London and fifteenth-century France.

Blood Magic

I really liked this story. The narrator did a fantastic job. It was interesting to know how Nat came to know who he really is. I look forward to the next book.

Finally Found A Great Series!

I spend many hours on the road and audible is a life saver! And after listening to over 100 books over the past 2 years I've begun to search for new series that will keep me interested. Crimes Against Magic is an excellent series. It has great character development and James Langton does an excellent job bringing the folks to life.

Thoroughly Enjoyed

I love a good action novel and this is a really good action novel for me. I liked the various facets of the plot which led the protagonist into various unique situations that resulted in a variety of unique solutions. I especially enjoyed the fact that historical facts and events were woven into the plot.
I woud have no problem recommending this book to friends who enjoy the genre.

Phenomenal!

Would you listen to Crimes Against Magic again? Why?

Over and over and over!!

What other book might you compare Crimes Against Magic to and why?

Alex Verus. Same character type (except the Hellequin is more powerful). But the climaxes are emotional and exciting! Can't put down.

Which scene was your favorite?

When He realizes that He is the Hellequin. Even the beginning with the werewolves.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

HELLEQUIN!

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to see his powers unfold as a necromancer. Great 3rd Book!!!

Great start to an interesting new UF series

Would you listen to Crimes Against Magic again? Why?

Yes. The story was exciting and action packed. I liked the world building and the characters are interesting.

What did you like best about this story?

It had great action without sacrificing plot.

Which scene was your favorite?

There was a scene where the main character is getting beat up and his instincts kick in from his forgotten life. It turns out that the is a bad @ss, but really had no idea where it came from.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wish I had the time push through the entire book all at once. I had to make myself set it aside to go to bed.
