Publisher's summary

Exploding from the pages of Horror, Humor, and Heroes, Volume One - it’s the full length adventures of the one and only Mechani-Cal! So grab your battlesuit and prepare to get a little nasty.

"Being a supervillain means never having to say you’re sorry - unless it’s to the judge or the parole board. Even then, you don’t really have to. It’s not like it’s going to change the outcome or anything." Those are the words of Calvin Matthew Stringel, better known as Mechani-Cal. He’s a down-on-his-luck armored villain. Follow his exploits as he gets swept up in a world domination scheme gone wrong and ends up working for these weak willed, mercy loving heroes. Immerse yourself in epic battles and see what it’s like to be an outsider looking in at a world that few have ever experienced. Climb into Cal’s battlesuit and join him on his journey. Will he avoid selling out his principles for a paycheck and a pardon? Can he resist the camaraderie of being on a super team? Does he fall prey to the ample charms of the beautiful Olympian Aphrodite? How will he survive the jealous schemes of Ultraweapon, who wears armor so powerful it makes Cal’s look like a museum piece?

See the world of “righteous do-gooders” through the eyes of someone who doesn’t particularly care for them. Revel in his sarcasm and hang on for one wild ride! Just remember: losing an argument with a group of rioters isn’t a good excuse to start lobbing tear gas indiscriminately at them. You’ve only got so many rounds and it’s going to be a long day, so make sure you get as many as possible with each one.

Too much fun!

What did you love best about Confessions of a D-List Supervillain?

Oh man. Witty, creative and down-right fun to listen to. I don't think a book has ever made me laugh so much, and it's not a comedy. I love the pop culture references. I already purchased and downloaded Origins of a D-List Supervillain (The prequel) and look forward to it. Don't have expectations of literary genius here. This is more of a comic book story laid out in a somewhat adult context. I love that the protagonist is so flawed and cynical. Just great. Bravo!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Confessions of a D-List Supervillain?

"The two hottest women on the planet, and I now have sex tapes with both of them" (paraphrased)

"Come on String-bean!"

What about Jeffrey Kafer and Talmadge Ragan ’s performance did you like?

Wow! Good tone, great inflection and he could even pull of the mechanical sounds of voice over radio. Also, great job on reading the Andy Droid dialog.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

LAUGH! Giggle! Chuckle! All of the above.

A good Filler between credits

Would you consider the audio edition of Confessions of a D-List Supervillain to be better than the print version?

I consider all unabridged audio books better than the printed. Don't like to 'read'

Would you recommend Confessions of a D-List Supervillain to your friends? Why or why not?

Maybe. It's OK, but there are millions of free audiobooks out there that are as good and Better. If ya have $7 and nothing else to do with it sure.

Which scene was your favorite?

The ending is pretty good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Great light hearted fun!

Sometimes I just want a light-hearted goofy book that I can enjoy without having to think about it too hard. Perfect. ( Although I wasn't too fussed about the narrator switch toward the end).

Distracting and ok but no masterpiece

Distracting and ok but no masterpiece. Ok for commuting if nothing else to read and you like super hero stories

Loved It!

I loved it! wasn't sure I could get into listening to a fantasy book but the voice actors did a good job of speaking with feeling. listened to it non-stop and just wish I'd gotten the sequel before this trip!

I'm digging it!!

Fun, exciting, action-packed, humorous, and refreshing, bundled up in a nice little package. Not a book from my usual genre of preference, which provided a nice change of pace for me. Highly recommended!!

fantastic writing and performance

plenty has already been said about this book and I don't usually leave reviews but this book was great. I wish it was longer but it was a very solid book from beginning to end.

Entertaining for what it is.

An entertaining book if at times a bit bland and shallow. The main narrator was fine, but the epilogue narrator sounded as if she was narrating a childern's book.

Excellent and Fun

I really liked Confessions of a D-List Supervillain. Jim Bemheimer created a tight story without a lot of fluff to fill the pages. That doesn't mean there isn't character development. There is. Jeffrey Kafer did a great job narrating, and provide good voice inflection. I grabbed this audio book as an Included with my membership. I am now going to grab (and pay for) book 1 and the others in the series.

Really good but too short for a credit

There are 4 of these books so far if they put them all together in a publisher pack it would definitely be worth a credit, but individually they are just too short. Fun story
