Welcome to Caraval, where nothing is quite what it seems.
Scarlett has never left the tiny isle of Trisda, pining from afar for the wonder of Caraval, a once-a-year weeklong performance where the audience participates in the show.
Caraval is magic. Mystery. Adventure. And for Scarlett and her beloved sister, Tella, it represents freedom and an escape from their ruthless, abusive father. When the sisters' long-awaited invitations to Caraval finally arrive, it seems their dreams have come true. But no sooner have they arrived than Tella vanishes, kidnapped by the show's mastermind organiser, Legend.
Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. Nonetheless, she quickly becomes enmeshed in a dangerous game of love, magic and heartbreak. And whether it's real or not, she must find Tella before the game is over and her sister disappears forever.

"Very good book"
At first I was worried that this was just going to be a night circus spin off but it's a fabulous story in its own right. It's very dark in places and it leave you feeling emotionally exhausted! I liked the narration and I would recommend this book. I hope book two comes out quickly as you get left with a bit of a cliffhanger
loved it. the story had me hooked from the outset, and I was desperate to keep listening to find out what happened.
I had never read anything by this author before so I had no idea what to expect but I'm so glad I gave it a chance. it's one of the best books I've read in a long time.
I thoroughly enjoyed caravaI, i didn't guess any of the plots, it enticed me throughout the whole book so much I didn't want to put down or end. definetly would recommend.
"Nice start. Impossible to finish, causes severe eye rolling."
Nice start and then it got cheesy and more cheesy and eventually unbearably cheesy. Probably ok for Spanish soap opera lovers.
