"Christopher Paolini is a true rarity."—The Washington Post

Oaths sworn . . . loyalties tested . . . forces collide... Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king? Following the colossal battle against the Empire's warriors, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still, there is more adventure at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.

When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices—choices that will take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.

That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. Can’t get enough

I enjoyed this series when I read it years ago and now that Mirtaugh is out I wanted to get back into it again. Enjoyed listening just as much as reading. Narration was great.

The story continues!

Things continue right from where they left off in this third book. we get reintroduced to several characters, and new perspectives we hadn't gotten before. Some of the twists were great and some parts got a little tiring where you wish the story could speed up a bit. Overall a great story and looking forward to the next!

Outstanding

A gorgeous telling of a breathtaking adventure. Paolini never disappoints. His ability to weave an entire world down to the thoughts and sensations of the very ants on the ground will never cease to amaze me.

After Elder, I was surprised how good this one is.

I had figured out all the revolutions in Elder about half way through the book so I wasn't expecting much from Brisingr. I was pleasantly surprised that this book was so good and am on pins and needles for the conclusion in the next book. Great listen or read!

I really enjoyed

So far each of the books in this series has been really enjoyable. I am disappointed that it is now becoming an epic like the "Wheel of Time" series, I'm still waiting for the end.....12 books. How many will it be before this series ends.....I hope it's under 5, however so far each book has been well done.

Awesome Series

This is one of the best narrated series. I love Gerard Doyle's narration and Christopher Paolini's writing is awesome! I think it's better than the Harry Potter series. I highly recommend you listen to the entire series.
