Publisher's summary

In a universe where assassins make the law, everyone lives in fear—except for Syn. Born of an illicit scandal that once rocked a dynasty, he always knew how to survive on the bloodthirsty streets. But that was then, and the future is now…

Syn was raised as a tech-thief until his livelihood uncovered a truth that could end his life. He tried to destroy the evidence, and has been on the run ever since. Now trained as an assassin, he allows no one to threaten him. Ever. He is the darkness that swallows his enemies whole.

Shahara Dagan is the best bounty hunter in the universe. When Syn comes back on the radar, she's the only one who can bring him to justice. There's only one problem: Syn is a close family friend who's helped out the Dagans countless times. But if she saves him, both of their lives will be on the line. Is Syn's protection worth the risk? The only hope Shahara has is to find the evidence he buried long ago. Now it's kill or be killed—and they, the predators, have just become the hunted…
Born of Fire is the second book in bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon's League series.

Great series. Worth every credit.

The story: The characters are believable and engaging. They are dynamic. The plots are interesting and fast-moving with just enough twists to keep a sharp mind attentive.

The performance: The reader was great. She really brought the characters to life. She made the action scenes and scenes with emotion really shine. I've since gone looking for other things that she reads.

If another installment of this series came available, it would jump to the top of my wish list.

Voice

I enjoyed the story, however, the character of Sin was supposed to have a deep baritone voice and the reader has more of a tenor. Other than that, it was Good. The reader who read the Sword of Truth series would have been great for this character.

Love this series

I have loved this series for a long time. This is my third or fourth time going through but first time listening to audible version. I am a huge fan of Fred Berman, however, my only con, I would have liked to have heard Sin speaking with the English accent that was given to him by narrator Kelly Fish in the first book Born of Night.

It could also be because I am a fan of the British accent. 🤔😁😉

Syn was a whole lot of that and this and more

Syn is a beautifully sinful decadent that is filled with lethal intention. Shahara Dagan is the oldest sibling of four. She has spent her life caring for her siblings. One needs more care than others. There battle to stay alive brought them to a realization that life has more to offer. Syn is use to excruciating cruelty. He can survive the harsh torture. Shahara has never had anything to really call her own. Syn can provide this all for her. Their need to protect each other left them in limbo. They left off one thing. They need to communicate with each other on all levels.

I loved Syn before even getting his story. I knew from the first installment that he was one male that I wanted to get to know and know very well. He found the perfect match to complement him and his skill set.

Fred Berman came hard on this one. I found that he added flavor, vigor and all that he has been known for in the past. I love this audio.

Entertaining

Worth a listen if you're a Kenyon fan.
Not her best book ever, but it doesn't falter by any means if you want a full perspective of the league universe and its characters.

Plus, the narrators chosen for her audio are great.

Loved the book but not the Narrater

Where does Born of Fire rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed the book itself but the change in narrator from the 1st book was irritating.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Vic :)

How could the performance have been better?

use the same narrator for all the books

Why did I put off listening to this?

I thought Sherrilyn Kenyon's League series couldn't be as good as her Dark Hunter series. I was so wrong ...... just as good ..... I loved it. The narrator from the first book Kelly Fish ( not her real name ) she was great and I loved her Syn accident although it reminded me of Bones lol but I have also loved Fred So this was still good . This was a great listen highly recommend
