Publisher's summary

Critic reviews

"Jane gets into a complicated stew involving human and vampire rivalries, the ancient vampire-witch conflict, the New Orleans police, and her need to balance her beast and human natures. What with puzzles, chases (including a climactic one to rescue children), lots of blood, and some explicit sex, count on this to please thriller and dark romance fans alike." ( Booklist)

Vampires, Witches, & A Rogue

Awesome story & narration! Really enjoyed this book a lot. I like how some vamp lore was incorporated into the story & who told this lore to Jane. Makes me wonder if we’ll get to know her more in other books. I hope so.
Also, I would like to see more of Angie-baby as she is so adorable. And maybe a bit scary. Lol!
Although I’m happy that Jane found a romantic interest but I really would have loved to have seen it be with a specific someone. It would have made for some interesting (& dare I say steamy) romantic encounters. Perhaps maybe love triangle of a sort. But I don’t want it to be like the Twilight stories. While that was a decent series, I don’t quite think that type of story would work well here. Plus a love triangle in this series would make for a lot of interesting storytelling, if written right.
I also wouldn’t mind just a touch of humor as well. I will that the story is well thought out & I do enjoy the mystery angle of it a lot; but some humorous moments would loosen up some of the seriousness in Jane, I think.
I’m looking forward to the next book & to see what kind of trouble Jane’s going to get into next.

Blood Cross: Jane Yellowrock, Book 2

This is another great tale with Jane Yellowrock. The author creates a strong, female character, who also is vulnerable in some ways. There is enough intrique and action to keep you interested. The story is developed well. I enjoy the toughness and sometimes softness of the main character. I look forward to future stories with Jane Yellowrock.

book 2

2nd Jane Yellowrock Book. Enjoyed this one as much as the first in the series. Delve a little more deeply into the characters of Jane, Molly and the New Orleans cast. A love triangle and lots of action to keep a girl on the edge of her seat. I looked forward to getting back to the book to find out what happens next. Continuing to enjoy the series. Really enjoy Khristine as narrator.

Just fun

Where does Blood Cross rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Other books I've read or listened to had some deep thought provoking situations leading me to change my view of the world. If that is what you are looking for, this book is not it. While Faith Hunter adds her own idiosyncrasies to the vampire legend, they are not so outrages that it ruins it (like glowing diamond skin in the sunlight). However, the book was fun to listen too, was not too predictable and did provide enough suspense that I ended up listening to it too fast before my next credit was available :-( There is a recurring theme in this second book that keeps me wanting to listen to more to find out the answers (can't say what without spoiling it, but listen to this and the first book and you will get it).

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Cross?

When she finds out what the blood cross really is.

What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?

Khristine's voice is pleasant to listen to and not monotonic at all. Being from New Orleans though, you have to just accept the mis-pronounced French words (there aren't that many, but some you do have to stop and think about).

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Always carry silver
