Publisher's summary

Missy Roper's fantasies have revolved around Graham Winters since the moment they met. But the imposing leader of the Silverback werewolf clan always seemed oblivious to Missy's existence. At least he was, until Missy collides with him at a party and then abruptly runs away---arousing Graham's interest...and wild desires. Lupine law decrees that every Alpha must have a mate, and all Graham's instincts tell him that the sensual, beguiling Missy is his. Trouble is, Missy is human---every delectable inch of her. Convincing his clan that she's his destined mate, and keeping her safe from his enemies, will be the biggest challenge Graham has ever faced. And now that he is determined to have her---as his lover and as his mate---Missy's world is changing in ways she never imagined.

Interesting story and plot.

If you could sum up Big Bad Wolf in three words, what would they be?

Very great book.

What other book might you compare Big Bad Wolf to and why?

The rest of the books in this GROUP...

What does Kate Reading bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I have read the book and I've found out I'd rather listen to the book then read the book...

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

enjoyable second book, narrated badly though!

I really wish we could have had a different narrator, even a male narrator for the H parts, her voice at best was distracting and not alpha at all, but the story was funny, cute, couldn't get into the sexy times, again the narrator ruined it for me, considering a return for this very reason too bad!

Worth the read

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The story was entertaining enough, this is the first book I have read in this series and I think I will download another. The story and the characters were entertaining it was the narrator that threw me off. I had found this book on the shelf at Half Price Books and began reading it in store while I waited; so I was excited to listen to it on Audible since I rarely have time to sit and read, the story didn't disappoint, but I just wasn't a fan of the narration.

If you’ve listened to books by Christine Warren before, how does this one compare?

This was my first.

How could the performance have been better?

This book would have been better narrated by a man I think... someone more like Holter Grahm.

Tough one to get through

Would you try another book from Christine Warren and/or Kate Reading?

No, I don't think so.

What could Christine Warren have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Have a stronger female character. She lacked self esteem and was always thinking that she wasn't good enough. I read stories to get away from that sort of thing.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Absolutely. I couldn't get past her lisp and she made the heroine sound less appealing than the author intended.

What character would you cut from Big Bad Wolf?

They all seemed pretty essential.

Any additional comments?

When the author explains about the mate hunt, she specifically mentions that if a couple are mated, they only hunt for each other because wolves mate for life. Then, in the next scene, she has the villain hunting for another man's mate, even though the villain has a mate of his own and a child. What's up with that? Where was this villain's mate and why would she ever allow him to go after another female?

very basic

Very basic about like an adolescent telling a story with no depth or character. Yes i know that it is a "type" of fiction, but there are MANY authors of paranormal romance that can at least weave a story worth listening to. i would pass on this one.

Big Mistake

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Favorite authors: Karen Robards, Linda Howard, Nalini Singh, Julie James and a few others. tried this as am looking for a new author as I have read all by my favs. One, the reader cannot vary her voice and her male voice was very off putting. She just sounded silly. Two, the story line was almost non existent. I am not looking for realism or I wouldn't be reading romance...but this was just plain dumb and boring. No real character development etc. On to the next new author.

Would you ever listen to anything by Christine Warren again?

Won't be reading anymore of hers.

Big BAD Book

First of all, and worst of all, the performer's voice for the Graham. It sounded like someone impersonating your drunken, crabby, old uncle Louie. Graham's supposed to be hot - this voice was not even lukewarm. Listen to the sample before buying...because it doesn't get any better than that. So much of the story was from the male perspective that - I think a male performer should have been used.

As for the story... omg. So bad. So wrong. Helpless plain jane meets oversexed wolf man and suddenly it's all hearts and roses? If breeding and beastiality turn you on, give this a read. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

Seriously, get Night Play by Sherrilyn Kenyon if you want something like this. It's a similar story but done so much better.
