Publisher's Summary

It takes more than silver bullets to kill a werewolf. Sylvester James knows what it is to be haunted. His mother died giving birth to him and his father never let him forget it; until the night he was butchered by a werewolf - the night a full moon ruined his life.

Alone in the world, Sylvester is taken in by Michael Winterfox, a Cheyenne mystic. Winterfox, once a werewolf hunter, trains the boy to be a warrior - teaching him how to block out pain, stalk, fight, and kill. Bit by bit, all that makes Sylvester human is sacrificed to the hunt. Now, Sylvester's hatred has become a monster all its own, robbing him of conscience and conviction as surely as the Beast's bite.

As he follows his vendetta into the outlands of the occult, options become scarce. And he learns it takes more than silver bullets to kill a werewolf... To kill a werewolf, it takes a hunter with a perfect willingness to die.

"Interestingly dark , but maybe a bit much ?"
    Any additional comments?

Now , I'm not the kinda guy who shy away from a dark story . I really like horror an such sense I was a wee little tyke , saying that these books Kinda hurt , Metaphoricaly . I feel they fall in the category of morbide. took me a a bit to finish this one . And (had too return the next )After a few days I had too recharge , by watching Disney movies just too finish it . Not too say the storie is a bad one , if u took half the blood death an torture out this book it would be far shorter; easer to listin too in my humble opinion ..

    "Not worth the Credit!!!"

Autobiography of a Werewolf Hunter, is by far the most cliched book i have ever read.
This would make a really bad sy-fy B movie! I normally do not leave negative reviews; however, I went and ahead and read the whole book and I can honestly say I will NEVER read another of his books. I am not a writer; therefore I will NOT tell you what it would take to fix this book. All I can say is "try it again" writer! And this time, leave out the 1970's and 80's racial catch phrases.--that might be a good start.

    "Great Story"
What did you love best about Autobiography of a Werewolf Hunter?

A pretty good werewolf story. Good enough for me to purchase the sequel. Might have been a bit better if the author cut it a bit short. Was a bit lengthy and dry in parts but overall, I liked it. Glad to have found a new horror author!!

    "Great Story... horrible Narrator..."

I enjoyed this.. Character and concept are all great. The writing is a bit on the basic side... but the story is good.. I couldn't stop listening. The narrator is a bit tough to get though but the story makes up for it.

    "Wow, this was surprisingly good"
Would you consider the audio edition of Autobiography of a Werewolf Hunter to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version, but if the first hour or so is any indication I'm not sure I would have continued to read. I'm so glad I was listening instead. I was working and listening to the story and before I knew it, I was hooked solidly and completely.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Autobiography of a Werewolf Hunter?

There were so many memorable moments, but I think the internment camp and subsequent escape were the most memorable. This really defined the main character in ways that make his actions later in the book much more understandable.

Have you listened to any of Basil Sands’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I've never listened to him before. As I mentioned earlier, if I was basing my opinion on the first hour or so, I would not have been impressed. He gives the narration the inflection that the story requires and I would definitely buy more books narrated by him. My only fault is his mispronunciation of a few place and people names (such as Jimenez).

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment in the woods where he was brought to the Mexican in the old car.

    Any additional comments?

Most pleasant surprise! This book does not waste time with stupid romantic sidelines, it's gritty, rough, and sometimes even bordering on scary but it is a great study of what it is to be a human being and how even good people can do bad things. Makes you want to have a closer look at your own morality.
