Publisher's summary

Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally beautiful archangel Raphael, have returned home to New York only to face an uncompromising new evil. A vampire has attacked a girls' school---the assault one of sheer, vicious madness---and it is only the first act. Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening to make the streets run with blood. Then Raphael himself begins to show signs of an uncontrolled rage, as inexplicable storms darken the city skyline and the earth itself shudders. The omens are suddenly terrifyingly clear. An ancient and malevolent immortal is rising. The violent winds whisper her name: Caliane. She has returned to reclaim her son, Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena, the consort who must be destroyed.

love this series!

I love this series!! Read it multiple times (and currently re-reading again rn!). I love the characters— Elena and Raphael *swoon*. I love raphael’s seven (shout out to Aodhan and Illium *double swoon*). I love their stories. I love this magical world and complexities within the world and characters. Nalini is an amazing writer and a source of inspiration — I laugh. I cry. I get sucked into her stories and stay up late reading. I always know I’m about to have an epic experience reading one of her books. I always pre-order her stories! Do not miss out on this series because you may have been swayed by negative reviews. These books are amazing!!!
Note: This review is long overdue and will be the same for all the books in the series.

Book 3

Archangel’s Consort finds the duo growing closer and Elaina becoming stronger. Raphael battles his past while awaiting the future. The storyline progresses and draws in the listener. The narrator did a good job.

Love this series

This is the third book in the Guild Hunter’s series and I loved it as much as the first two.

Elena and Raphael return to NYC where Elena is once again tracking down killers and facing off with her father like the take charge hunter-turned-angel she is. I enjoyed book 2 and learning about the Angels’ refuge, but I really liked being back in New York with angels, vampires, and humans.

Raphael is my fave book bf even though I don’t think I would put up with someone like him in real life. The chemistry between him and Elena is 100% fire, and Singh writes spice sooo well.

If you enjoy adult fantasy romance, I highly recommend this series.

Disappointed. Not as good as earlier books

I really liked the first two books in this series. The heroine was strong and made up her own mind. In this book she falls apart. When the alpha male tried to control her previously, she came up with intelligent ways to deal with him. Here they have the same boring argument over and over. The heroine seems to devolve into an insecure toddler who is constantly saying "no" for no reason. She has to do everything herself and cannot take help from anyone. This book has more minutes taken over by sex scenes than the first two, but that is instead of interesting plot or character development. If you liked the first two books, you'll probably listen to this one, Justine Eyre does an excellent reading. Just have low expectations. I was very excited but this book doesn't meet the series' standards.

Weak Story, Good Performance

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I might recommend the series but not the book. When a book has a weak storyline just repeat platitudes and add more sex scenes.

Has Archangel's Consort turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. I love this genre.

Have you listened to any of Justine Eyre’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have no problem with the performance.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

Not my favorite in the series...

I really enjoy Elena and Raphael. Really, a lot. I was very interested in the beginning of the story, but the ending felt rushed, and even though I rewound and listened to it twice, there were still a few things I was confused about in the big climax scene ( that didn't feel all that climactic anyway).

Never fear though, I will continue with the series. I'm very interested to see where some of Elena's family developments lead.
