Publisher's summary

Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally beautiful archangel Raphael, have returned home to New York only to face an uncompromising new evil. A vampire has attacked a girls' school---the assault one of sheer, vicious madness---and it is only the first act. Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening to make the streets run with blood. Then Raphael himself begins to show signs of an uncontrolled rage, as inexplicable storms darken the city skyline and the earth itself shudders. The omens are suddenly terrifyingly clear. An ancient and malevolent immortal is rising. The violent winds whisper her name: Caliane. She has returned to reclaim her son, Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena, the consort who must be destroyed.

Can't believe I am not bored with these yet!

I have this bad habit of loving the first, and possibly the second, book in a series but then I get bored....I always come back, but I give it a break....not with this series apparently! The only other time I got past book 3 and still loved listening was the Black Dagger Brotherhood...so trust me when I say I am shocked I am still loving this series!

This is book 3 in the Guild Hunter series, and Ellianora/Elli/Elena is still kicking butt and taking names! We learn more about everyone's past, more than we wanted to know in some cases, and we have more conflict with Elena's dad, and get to glimpse more of Elena's side of the family...some good...some bad...and one family secret divulged at the end that makes you go....WOW...what will THAT mean for the future story line?!?!?!? We also have some new characters in this book...namely Raphael's mom...but as Elena explained to Raphael not everyone gets along with their mother in law!

Can't wait to listen to the next installment to hear how THAT whole thing is going to go! Such a rich and creative world...Mrs. Singh keep popping those whacked out happy pills because the worlds you create in your stories have me on the edge of my seat!

If you haven't read the first book just give it a try!!! Put it in your wish list and Audible will tell you when it goes on sale for ridiculously cheap....what's the harm!

Still enjoying this series.

I know other reviewers said they are tired about Elenna's "daddy" issues, and I agree her freezing in fear at each memory is getting a little old, but they were a huge part of her past. Takes a while to get over trauma, especially when you are slowly piecing it together. Aside from that I love how endearing her and Raphaels relationship has become, little moments that make you smile while listening. I also still love the way things are described, whether it's a scent or that way something looks. I would say the steamy scenes aren't that exciting as the books go on since it's more of the same but they are still there if you enjoy those parts. Will continue to listen to this series.

Amazing Narration and Fabulous PNR

For me, this series is fantastic in audio. Justine Eyre does an excellent job of portraying the different nationalities and male voices, bringing the book to life in a way the print version cannot. I can feel the emotions that Elena is trying to deny--the love/hate she feels for her father, the love and joy being with her friends brings, and the hesitation when it comes to Raphael. The narrator brings to life all the nuances of each character that makes them so real, it's as if you are actually there.

[The audio also helps with the pronunciation of names, which can be very difficult since there are such a range of cultures represented. I would have had no idea how to say Charisemnon if not for the audio. And I don't know about you, but when a name is difficult to pronounce, it kicks me out of the story fast.]

This is a must listen to narrator and a must read story!

This series keeps getting better

Would you consider the audio edition of Archangel's Consort to be better than the print version?

I can't compare audio to print. It's like apples and oranges to me as long as the Voice talent is a good one like this series has.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Archangel's Consort?

When her mortality in his blood saved him.

Which character – as performed by Justine Eyre – was your favorite?

Bluebell (grins)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No book is one I can listen to in one sitting....

Any additional comments?

This is an interesting take on good and evil and its relationship to each other as well as to what it's true nature is. This is not run of the mill formula romance or even paranormal fantasy. It is a new rich world where the rules are different than what you are used to and challenges your preconceived notions of many theological ideas and legends.

Elena has not lost her drive.

I am pleased to say this book holds its own in comparison to the first two and maybe tops them in depth and character development.
Some loose ends are picked up and explained.
Ever wonder what happened to the surviving victim from the first book?
She is back in this book and hints are made that she may be playing a larger part in the future.
Raphael and Elena are in serious trouble in this book and there may be no right answer to the problems thrown their way. (you will see what I mean. I finished it Still wondering)
I can see so many more books springing from this plot line that I can't help but to be excited.

GREAT SERIES

Any additional comments?

Still loving Elena and Raphael. I was hoping for more detail of the other characters in the series. Especially Dimitri, Venom and Jason. I would love more insight into their lives and to see their characters grow. I still enjoyed the book and I look forward to see what comes next..,,,,

Very good book! Well written!

What did you love best about Archangel's Consort?

I enjoyed the building storyline about the characters. They seem that they could actually be real people!

What other book might you compare Archangel's Consort to and why?

I love the entire series. It reminds me of the Daggers Brotherhood series - well written, hard to put down, entrancing....

Which character – as performed by Justine Eyre – was your favorite?

Oh that's hard to say - each one was awesome!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, definitely but unfortunately I couldn't. I did stay up too late though listening to it though.

Any additional comments?

Great listen - highly recommend the entire series!

Love this series!

I loved this entire series and am eagerly awaiting the next installment in October. I would say this is probably the best Urban Fantasy series I have ever read and I have read most of them. The "angels" in this story are not the biblical ones at all and they are sometimes good and sometimes very evil, as are the vampires. The ongoing love story between the two main characters (even when they are secondary to the main story) really makes the entire series. The only complaint I had - and this is easily overlooked/tolerated - is that some of the sex scenes seemed gratuitous to the stories, and I am not faint of heart when it comes to torrid sex scenes. In other words, it seemed like her publishers said "add more sex because sex sells" and she did it. Other than that, I would say this is the perfect Urban Fantasy series.

Done so well..

As always, the accents are spot on. The way characters are voiced are done so well that I forget this is one person doing it all. BRAVA!
