Publisher's summary

The severed head marked by a distinctive tattoo on its cheek should have been a Guild case, but dark instincts honed over hundreds of years of life compel the vampire Dmitri to take control. There is something twisted about this death, something that whispers of centuries long past... but Dmitri's need to discover the truth is nothing to the vicious strength of his response to the hunter assigned to decipher the tattoo.

Savaged in a brutal attack that almost killed her, Honor is nowhere near ready to come face to face with the seductive vampire who is an archangel's right hand, and who wears his cruelty as boldly as his lethal sensuality... the same vampire who has been her secret obsession since the day she was old enough to understand the inexplicable, violent emotions he aroused in her.

As desire turns into a dangerous compulsion that might destroy them both, it becomes clear the past will not stay buried. Something is hunting - and it will not stop until it brings a blood-soaked nightmare to life once more.

An un expected pleasure!

Dimitri's story is well written, with a strong story line and some intriguing glimpses of possible other books to come( I can't wait!) I've listened to this one twice already and will do so again. I do think a different narrator would have made this better- when she is trying to express Dimitri's dark, fatalistic humour/outlook, Ms Eyre sounds nasal and her voice makes him sound like a dolt.
Thank you, Ms Singh! I eagerly look forward to your next book.

Amazing ending!

I thought this whole series was about Elena and Raphael but found that this one is focused on Dmitri and Honor. Dmitri is Raphael's second and Honor is a vampire hunter. He's a very old vampire that comes off pretty sadistic. She's a human who's suffered serious abuse.

To me, Dmitri has always came off as a big jerk. He likes to taunt Elena and he does it to Honor as well. I'm not a big fan of him... until the end of this book. I was resigned to believing that their story was just going to be ok, but man did that ending change things quickly.

What both Dmitri and Honor has been through have been pretty horrific. It makes that ending so much sweeter. I'm now looking forward to seeing this couple make appearances in the upcoming books.

Archangel's Blade The Guild Hunter Series, Book 4

Well, this is quite an entertaining and interesting book. Equally fun reading about these couples and everything they suffered in the hands of a wicked angel and her desire to convert another woman's husband. Dmitri and his wife Ingred were lovers, and young couples who got married and have two children, a boy and a girl. They lived their lives, and he was a farmer and his wife, a homemaker who cares for their children. Until one day they were in their village and a festive was taking place. An angel came, she was interested in Dmitri, she makes offered but he turned her down. She went on showing him gifts of all kinds and other kinds of wishes. Eventually, they got to him, and his family was killed and the angel turned him into a vampire after she was done with him. She branded him so that he will be and remained with her for all time. Dmitri's survival as a vampire was for many centuries, after which his wife came back as a hunter and stronger this time. She is ready to fight for her family and her love, and her husband. Together they fight the remaining of the enemy who has destroyed them in their first time of life and go around. They were able to defend their love life, and the happiness that they want. Dmitri and Honor were able to find themselves back again, this time with one mind and one hope they are joined this time as one soul. They now know who they are and how long they have to love each other for eternity, loving each other this time. this has been one of the most beautiful love stories and with a good ending for these couples who have been through so much in life.

A good story of one of the seven

Entertaining from start to finish. Character development with Honor was good. Had a hard time putting this book down when I started listening.

STEAMY!!!!!

This story is about the devilish Dmitiry, and Oh my goodness I can't believe the sex scenes. So explicit. As if I am in the room. And Honor, well lets just say I thought Elena was kick ass, I think Honor is supernatural. This is the kind of book, I could listen to again and again. And it will never get old. The narration is great quality.
The best part about this book is the way Nalini Singh pulled me right into the book by the very first page. I am so hooked and can't wait to listen to the next one!

Another Engrossing Vampire/Hunter Story

Would you listen to Archangel's Blade again? Why?

I think the story is interesting enough and the characters so well developed, that I'm sure I will listen to it again one day. The Psy/Changling stories are such favorites, I didn't expect to enjoy these Arch angel, Vampire and Hunter stories as much as I do.

What did you like best about this story?

I've wanted to hear Demetri's story from the beginning. His back story and this present love story does not disappoint.

Which scene was your favorite?

No one scene stands out, but the unfolding of the story and relationships keeps me involved until the very end.

Any additional comments?

I listen to books as I travel hours for business in my car. Nalini Singh's books get me so involved I can miss an exit ramp... but hopefully I'm still a safe driver. It makes the ride seem so much shorter.
