Publisher's summary

Annihilation: Love Conquers All offers humor and a tale of enduring love against the backdrop of galactic war on a grand scale.

Tag, an exceptional young human living in Central City on the planet Earth, tries to keep his powerful, one-of-a-kind skills undetected by leading an ordinary life and staying under the radar. But one day, on the way home from school, Tag's compassion leads him to make a decision that alters the course of his life - and history.

The Alliance of Worlds, which includes Earth as a ruled non-member, has decided that humans are to be annihilated as an example to anyone who discovers an ancient alien technology, even though there is no proof against them. The Alliance thinks fifty thousand warships can do the job. Unfortunately, the humans are not cooperating with their plan and one young human who has fallen in love will change everything...

In this epic story, author Saxon Andrew takes us into the future and the lives of human and nonhuman characters alike. Along with a hearty dose of battles and spaceships, this is a story that offers humor and a tale of enduring love against the backdrop of galactic war on a grand scale.

Was going to give this a pretty good review

Then I heard book two and this one paid the price. The first 1/3rd of the book was very well written and there was even some voice affects that added to the listening pleasure. I listen to these books only when walking my dog but this one made want to keep listening in my spare time. However in the 2nd 3rd of the book there was the classic mistake of having put to much information in the first part that the author had to leave at bits from the middle to move things along but it was still interesting. The last part of the book was somewhat the worst part because again things were happening to quick and the story just skipped over explaining some of the plot and just ended with me thinking "well that was quite the convenient ending" I was going to give a 3 out 5 over all but like I said I listen to the second book and all hope was lost.

Not the best for your money

This book starts off just fine with a great idea. Lonely kid with unusual talents. By chapter five or so it is off to lala land. Just way to fantastic to even make sense to a SyFy fan.. I lost interest at that point. I did listen to the end hoping it would get better. Luckily it was a bargain book so I am not out a full credit. The narration was not bad but the imitation of the radio voices and aliens talking in a tube was a little annoying. Recommendation? Pass on it unless you are 12 years old.

Simplistic

The characters just didn't appeal to me. Why we're all of these very young characters trusted at early ages by people in the highest levels of government and military?

Reads like a teenager wrote it...

I had to look the author up to make sure he wasn't a teenager. I'm willing to suspend disbelief to a degree but this is really awful. A kid in high school can defeat anyone in hand to hand combat because he is psychic. He manages to defend himself against 5 killers without breaking a sweat while avoiding all video cameras.

The society is weird - a child of a broken home is not allowed to marry or have children. Some one is promoted 5 levels and transferred to a new group after 10 minutes in the presence of that new group's commander. Earth is a "bunch of peacemakers" and yet they have thousands of weaponized ships including battleships, cruisers and dreadnoughts.

Protagonist is a fugitive but suddenly is embraced into a special group and is immediately declared the leader of this group. This group has the ability to command all earth's space ships.

It reads like a teenager wrote it with all the "cool" stuff he could cram into it.

The narrator...well, the vocal enhancements (reverb, distortion, etc.) are just annoying and feel like laziness.
