Publisher's summary

Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she is the best - but she does not know if even she is good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, Elena knows failure is not an option - even if the task is impossible. Because this time, it's not a wayward vamp she has to track. It's an archangel gone bad.

The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other - and pull her to the razor's edge of passion. Even if the hunt does not destroy her, succumbing to Raphael's seductive touch just might. For when archangels play, mortals break.

A Paranormal Pickup

Romance builds behind the hunt for a rogue angel. Interesting twist on the Vampire myth without the book being about vampires. The story was well written, the plot well developed. This author is now on my 'to look for' list.

Very Enjoyable

This is my first foray into Nalini Singh's writing. I am a fan of paranormal/vampire/angel/romance series and this one is a good start. I was glad there is a mix of reality and city life with fantasy as that makes the story much more "real" to me as I am more able to relate and care about the characters.

Not the most in-depth characters and it got a bit tiresome constantly getting little hints throughout the book of Elena's past, but the concept of the society of angels and vampires with humans and all the hierarchy was really well done.

Justine Eyre's narration was very good even for the male voices which can be difficult. I will definitely get the next books.

Excellent book & narrator

Narrator did a great job of acting out the various voices, making it easy to distinguish characters. Singh is an all time fave of mine and the narrator did an excellent job bringing her words to life

Incredibly good but...

I loved the world system and the characters in this story! I also really enjoyed seeing Raphael become more in touch with his humanity as he got closer to his hunter, my only problem was that there is a scene where he almost mind rapes her and it felt like they just ignored it after he figured out what happened and she got mad... It just felt a little forced/rushed in that part for me, like there needed to be something more said? I don't know.
Illium was a gift though. Best blue boy ever!

Narrator is Definitely A Personal Preference

This storyline is so good and refreshing. I do not even know what to say about the narrator. Her voice has a lot of vibrato. She is not bad BUT different. There were times when I truly tried to get into the story and accept with an open heart and mind the shaky voice telling it. However, toward the end, I found it a real challenge to listen to the story without being distracted by the narrator's unique voice.

This is one of those times when you either love her voice or hate it. Listen to a sample and take it from there. I really liked the story though.

Who Knew, Angels could be so hot!

This is the first book in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunters series.
Singh's main charater is a kick-butt, kinda girl. She is a "Born" Vampire Hunter. And she is the best there is. Her life is going fine, until she is hired by the very sexy, Archangel, Raphael. (who knew wings could be hot?)

I can't wait for the next Guild Hunter book called "Archangel's Kiss" to come out.

Singh is also the author of the Psy-Changeling Series. But, I don't think any books in that series are offered as audiobooks.

Angels’ Blood

I really liked the world the author created, it was unique and fun but not too out there that you’re like what?

I did feel like we are missing some of the details that would have helped me like the book just a little bit better. The fact that humans know about archangel’s and that they live among them one was one. But also that vampire’s too live among the humans too, just in a different way than other books.

The love story is ok, I liked Elena but I kind loved Raphael more, he was a little dreamier for me. I didn’t really see Elena with him but whatever it worked and I enjoyed the book.

I liked the narration, I feel like she does sound a little too old for a 20 something year old girl but it is whatever because her other voices for the characters is what I liked the most. I like that they flow well and I can get lost in the story.
