Some zombies are raised. Others must be put down. Just ask Anita Blake.
Before now, she would have considered them merely off-putting, never dangerous. Before now, she had never heard of any of them causing human beings to perish in agony. But that’s all changed.
Micah's estranged father lies dying, rotting away inside from some strange ailment that has his doctors whispering about "zombie disease".
Anita makes her living off of zombies - but these aren’t the kind she knows so well. These creatures hunt in daylight, and are as fast and strong as vampires. If they bite you, you become just like them. And round and round it goes....
Where will it stop?
Even Anita Blake doesn’t know.

Let me start by saying Kimberly Alexis did a great job. There are WAY TOO MANY characters in this series so she gets props for keeping it together. The story is a good one but it's buried under too many pages that talk about "curly hair is hard to manage"..."he does so much weightlifting"... it's bad. Every chapter has a section on hair. And then there are the sex scenes... OH BROTHER... I love a good sex scene but there there is a sex scene that last three chapters. It's a bit much. It doesn't help with the story at all. I found myself skipping parts to get back to the real story. And the ending... she builds it up to be the zombie war of the century but it turns out to be the complete opposite.
This is the second audio book for me. It was great! Will be getting more! Very addicting!
The only thing I didn't like was the background music and sound affects! It was too distracting! Hard for me to consentrate on the story!
I'm blown away by the performance of the reader for this story. I loved the voices that she provided for each character. As far as the story line I enjoyed the twisting in Anita's attitude during this particular book. I'm glad that she backed down from some of the pissing contests. I look forward to the next book.
I've always enjoyed reading laurell k. Hamilton. This was my first time listening to one of her stories and somehow I thought that it was even more enjoyable than reading.
The producers really went above and beyond with the music and the narrator was absolutely fabulous.
Good story line.
I have enjoyed all the Anita Blake books. This really shows how to mix life (her life) love and yet kill zombies. Hamilton has surprised me with her stories and how she keeps building Anita's friendships and lovers. 4 more days till the next book and I can't wait.
A great continuation of the story line. Kept my interest thru the entire story, which is sometimes difficult with a series that this involved. Looking forward to more.
