Sex may sell but it is becoming tiresome and must a crutch
I'm no prude, but enough with the porn of it all. Get back to the storytelling and let the succubus part be a minor part of it. i was hooked with LKH's storytelling and imagery and now the sex part overshadows unecessarily.

Always Good
Where does Affliction rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I enjoy listening to Laurel K. Hamilton's series on audiobook mainly because Kimberly Alexis is the voice I hear when I think of Anita. There are a few books I have listened to and wondered why that narrator was selected but there is no questioning the choice here.
What other book might you compare Affliction to and why?
All of the other books in the series. Anita is in a world all her own. I guess you could say if you want something similar you could listen to Kim Harrison's Rachael Morgan series. Strong lead character who turns out to be more than you ever thought she would be.

If you are not prepared for a plea for acceptance from Mrs. Hamilton's open marriage then this may not be the book for you. It toed the line for me simply because I saw it for what it was and didn't like that she took a beloved character of mine and turned her into a launching pad. I love the escapism alloted by these novels.

Affliction
I'm blown away by the performance of the reader for this story. I loved the voices that she provided for each character. As far as the story line I enjoyed the twisting in Anita's attitude during this particular book. I'm glad that she backed down from some of the pissing contests. I look forward to the next book.

Great 20 year anniversary story!
Would you consider the audio edition of Affliction to be better than the print version?
Most def! I have tried reading but it just isn't the same without Kimberly Alexis' narration!

Jean Claude going to Anita and proposing.

Yes, it was awesome as always! She is the best narrator ever! She doesn't sound like a wounded poodle or porn star during steamy scenes.
