Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

Incredible

A fabulous masterpiece for which adjectives come short. I am absolutely amazed that it is possible, that words can give such meaning and man can create this.

Loved it. Sad to see this series end.

What did you love best about A Memory of Light?

I have read the Wheel of Time series twice and have really enjoyed it. This was a great end to the story. I love the performance of Kate Reading and Michael Kramer. They are great as the voices of these characters. I can't imagine them any other way.

A superb ending to a great story.

complex, involved and memorable. these are all words I would use to describe the last book of the wheel of time. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and think it was well written, planned and narrated. a treat for anyone that makes it this far in the series.

A satisfying conclusion

Would you listen to A Memory of Light again? Why?

I have and likely will again. My time with this audio book passed far too quickly. The narration immersed me so deeply into a story that I have enjoyed for over a decade.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Memory of Light?

There are honestly too many for me to select a single moment as the most memorable. For each character there has been a satisfying if sometimes sad conclusion to their story. If I had to select a single most memorable moment it would have to be either Rand's time with his father Tam in the sparring circle, or Lan's confrontation and conclusive duel with Demandred.

What about Michael Kramer and Kate Reading ’s performance did you like?

Each of these two stellar narrators can bring the story to life with varied voices, exceptional pacing and a grasp of character that goes way beyond ordinary story telling and brings a story into the realm of mythic consciousness.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed numerous times. I also sat at the edge of my seat wondering if this character too would see their end before the end of the tale. Of course. there are no endings to the wheel of time, but for some, there is an ending.

Any additional comments?

In my opinion, no finer author could have been chosen to end this amazing tale and even Mr Jordan himself would have been hard pressed to compose a better telling of the end of the tale.

Is this the last book?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Since I joined Audible. I have listened to rather than read the novels. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading do a wonderful job. The story answered all the questions that Robert Jordan created, but the Seanchan left a great big hole. The changes for them should be very drastic. I would like to see this adventure continue.

Great ending to the greatest series.

Fantastic series. Read the whole thing and find a world as real as our own. Great listen, although I listened at 1.25x as the narration was a tad slow for my taste.

solid finish

solid finish to an excellent series, but the ending sort of feels like it fell short, maybe too abrupt with all the 14 book lead up! some questions remain in unanswered but I believe the author indends this!
