An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

It's all about the narration...
The narrator sells this. I like Stephen King, but I'm not sure if this is a book I would have finished if I had been reading it the old fashioned way (even after finishing The Tommyknockers). I didn't want to stop listening to this. I like the philosophical places King went with the time travel aspect a lot - it will make you re-think whether time travel is a good idea. A definite must-read!

Another Great King Book
The overall book was well worth my time and I started listening to it during my commute to work sitting in traffic but I quickly had to purchase the e-book so that I could read at home. I finished this book in 4 days and could not put it down. I really enjoy the narration however, I needed to know what was going to happen next so, I red most of the book instead of listening. I will definitely listen again as the narrator was really good. I gave the story 4 stars instead of 4 because I think the ending could have been a little better. Not saying that it wasn't good, just saying that King could have given more energy to the end as i feel like I was revved up for the whole book then I felt like there was a drop in the intensity. Regardless, I loved the book and if I had to do all over again I would purchase.

absolutely gripping
about Adele one of my favorite Stephen King novels if not one of my favorite novels. I read this book on a whim bored out of my mind tired I'm listening to music on my alarm commute comfort me during the current pandemic Stephen King writing such a phenomenal novel as you've done time and time again you have entertained me made me laugh and made me think and made me cry

Fascinating, enthralling, time travel indeed...
Stephen King makes the concept.and potential realities of time travel and history come alive in this amazing historical story that weaves deep intricate character development into a true history of the past mixed almost inextricably with the even deeper imaginations of the authors mind.
The story provides a thorough history lesson, allows the reader to experience life in a bygone era and shares the feeling of how different life and time can feel in big cities and little towns both north and south.
Maybe one of my favorite King books yet. So many hours never felt so short.

The best narrator!
Stephen King never disappoints, but the real star was the narrator. The accents were spot on and each voice had it's own personality.
