Poor narrating

I almost wanted Henry to die. The narrator gave him such an irritating and whiney voice.

Great story, acceptable performance

Love the story, think it is absolutely fantastic. That being said, I do not care for the performance of the Hank as it seems the reader has confused a boy of 14 that would have a cracking voice with a high pitched 9 year old. Still, i would rate this a 4 out of 5 stars

The reader’s voice is fine

I understand why the reader of the book might not be for everybody, but I thought he did a great job of distinguishing the male voices so you could always understand who was talking. I didn’t find the women’s voices grating and thought Arlette was suitably played. Great story too! Highly recommend.

SK does it again

Creepy and much better than the NetFlix movie. If you want to watch the movie, finish the book first.

chills

Stephen King delivers yet, another chilling tale of the macabre.... with a vengeance. This is probably some of his best work incorporating the real monster.... Human greed. Also in this work of crime and punishment, there is repentance, but with an emphasis on the mechanics of how human thoughts move to influence ourselves and others to do very evil things. I enjoyed this audio and the narrator. The narrator was able to deliver it with the same grim sarcasm that is provided in most of my King favorites but also with the same "life happens" hilarity.

Grisly but compelling

I couldn’t stop listening! Love the narration - I felt like the narrator was the actual character, telling me what had happened. Well written. Well narrated.

Intense ... not for all readers!!?

This book is absolutely brilliant! Stephen King it can give life to so many different worlds, it's crazy! My warning to some readers is that, though a lot of his stories can be intense and graphic, this particular story definitely has more of a root in reality then most. That said, is absolutely brilliant!
The narration was spot-on and I wouldn't change anything about presentation.
