The shy Miss Yvonne Grenier, a beautiful fugitive of the French Revolution, is quite terrified when a dangerous enemy boards her stage to York. Luckily, Miss Hannah Pym is also on board. Ever the matchmaker, Miss Pym sees the answer to Yvonne's plight in the hands and heart of another passenger - the Marquis of Ware. Handsome and tailored to perfection, the marquis' birth and fortune are armor enough to defend Yvonne. Although the girl is of the French bourgeoisie and below him, Miss Pym is certain that Yvonne's Gallic graces and quick-witted tongue have more than piqued his interest. Miss Pym will propose a plan that enlists the Marquis' aid - and soon he will be proposing! After all, a maiden in distress is irresistable - even to a confirmed bachelor!

Fan of mystery & romance -- particularly of historical persuasion!"
I enjoyed all six books in The Traveling Matchmaker series. Helen Lisanti does a great job narrating!
Hard to listen to the bad French accent of the lead character.
The French accent of Yvonne made her character unlikable.
I am quiet and love being comfortable. I love curling up in a corner either reading or listening to a nice romantic book.
I was pleased with this final book in the series. It was nice that Miss Pym was able to get her man and be a married woman also. Benjamin gets to be with them and live in London, which is his heart's desire. I also like that she got to see Mrs Clarence and was her maid of honor at the wedding.
This is the first M. C. Beaton book I have heard and not found entertaining. I've tried several times to finish it, but found it too boring. It seemed to drag on and on, lacking the humor of the other books in "The Traveling Matchmaker "series.
This being the last book in the series M. C. Beaton must have run out of ideas.
Helen Lisanti is a talented narrator, but even she could not make it interesting.
Although I can recommend the first five books in the series, I cannot recommend this one.
