A cowboy through and through, ranch owner Mallory Kirk knows what it means to put in a full day’s work. But does his new cowgirl? He has his doubts that Morie Brannt will be able to pull her own weight, even if the petite young woman does seem to have a lot of spirit. As they spar over events at the ranch and a past that threatens their hopes for the future, sparks begin to fly, and Mallory can’t help but notice Morie in a new light. But is this tough Wyoming man ready to love?

"Nobody tops Diana Palmer when it comes to delivering pure, undiluted romance. I love her stories." (New York Times best-selling author Jayne Ann Krentz)
I enjoy many types of books and am always looking for new authors to read and listen too. I enjoy reading the reviews and adding my own from time to time.
I enjoyed the ins and outs of everyday ranch work as described in the book as I grew up around cowboys and ranch hands myself. There is a good storyline here and Mallory Kirk is a very strong character. Surprised however that he was so easily fooled by the rag girlfriend who could not leave quick enough for me. Morie Brannt is a very strong heroine in this story. Gives as good as she gets though she is still vulnerable to her feelings for him. She of course, is hiding things from him as all heroines seem to do. Lots of good support characters who I am sure will get books or make appearances in later books.
The scene at her father's ranch when Mallory is finally presented with the truth. Hard for a strong man like him to face all his mistakes in front of all those people. He is a good man after all.
I had many that I enjoyed and can't decide on any one over the other that I would listen to over and over. There are many funny and sad moments in the story that bear hearing again.
Not good at tag lines so will not try here.
I like the way Phil does all the male characters. He does suttle accents very well and does a very good drawl. I like to be able to tell a character is older and he does that well too. I do wish that his women's voices were better. They are more times than not too high pitched and more annoying than sensual. Love scenes can be tough indeed when the woman sounds like that. Hopefully that will improve one day because he is really a very good narrator.
Really enjoyed this story, somewhat ruined however by the narrators womens voice!! was the most wimpy annoying voice ever, completely ruined the mood. Did an amazing manly cowboy narration though so cannot say the narrator was completely terrible just wish they had done something else for the womans.
PLOT: rich Mallory Kane notices the new hired hand lovely Morie~
Standard wealthy Palmer heroine who gets her first JOB on Mallory Kanes Cattle Ranch. Morrie is lovely and innocent and is very attracted to sexy boss Mallory but at his side is Gaeli his nasty lady friend who lets NO one stand in her way. Typical Palmer fare but she has lost the abusive HERO thank God~ this one drags a bit going over and over characters from her previous books. Morie finally is fired after Gaeli plants evidance she stole. and the Hero finally has his eyes opened ~ WE need more passion here Diana and less going endlessly how inept Morie is. I have to give this one 1 star for performer~ Phil is a wonderful reader but when he tries to imitate a FEMALE voice it makes me cringe ~ romance audio is better with female readers~ hint hint hint~ BETTER than some of Diana's later novels~ I give this one 3 stars for over all story, 1 star for MALE voice trying be female and 3 stars for over all ~ and where is the Passion Diana?? you seemed to have forgottent that. and how about RELEASING SOME OF HER EARLIER TITLES??? HINT HINT HINT~ THOSE ARE HER VERY BEST STORIES ANY WAY~
I hated this book. The female lead is wimpy and the male lead is throwing a pitty party cause he thinks he's ugly?! Your joking right. That's just what ever girl wants is to have to stroke some guys ego. No we want big strong male lead who doesn't give a sh!t about anyone or anything but the girl he loves. Also the story line was crap. Both the antaginists just do not fit together at all and there is no way they er would have met to try and pull off this. Not with that girl acting like she does. Plus the narration on this is just bad. I will not be buying anymore from this author or any with this narrator.
a tough cowboy and a tough cowgirl meet and work together ... then romance and complications develop when one party is the boss. She is a smart, self sufficient girl who knows a lot more about people than he is willing to listen too.
Out of all of these types of romance 10
So far they all have my favors.
Orgasmic! He brings a lot to this story. His voice says it all, cause he is now a member of the Kurt Family.
Yeah, I did actually today when the house was empty of husband and kids.
Want to listen to the next book now, bye!
This book was less than what I expected and hoped for; very little substance. Oh, there was some drama, a little angst, suspicion and redemption, but overall not much to sink ones teeth into. Not a waste of time entirely, but definitely not one I would recommend. I keep trying Diana Palmer's books/audios but her writing just doesn't do anything for me.
PG's narration was pretty good.
