Publisher's summary

Her breathless kiss haunts him...

Bowen MacRieve of the Lykae clan was nearly destroyed when he lost the one woman meant for him. The ruthless warrior grew even colder, never taking another to his bed - until a smoldering encounter with his enemy, Mariketa the Awaited, reawakens his darkest desires. When sinister forces unite against her, the Highlander finds himself using all his strength and skill to keep her alive.

His slow, hot touch is irresistible...

Temporarily stripped of her powers, Mari is forced to take refuge with her sworn adversary. It's rumored that no one can tempt Bowen's hardened heart, but soon passion burns between them. Though a future together is impossible, she fears he has no intention of letting her go.

No deed is too wicked for her seduction...

If they defeat the evil that surrounds them, can Mari deny Bowen when he demands her body and soul - or will she risk everything for her fierce protector?

Any additional comments?

This was a great 3rd installment in the IAD series. Robert Petkoff is outstanding as usual. That man could read me my cars instruction manual and I would be entralled. I am off to listen to the 4th book now. You really can't go wrong with this series.

gorgeous story, cringy voices

I absolutely adore this story by Kresley. while Bowen starts out as a total a******, as a good chunk of her male leads do, he really evolves into one of my favorite male leads in her series. I feel like there was so much potential with this one particular story she could have made sequels or her own mini series because the end felt really rushed. another beautiful h e a, and if I would have changed anything it would have been some of the voices done by the VA. it wasn't until maybe the 3rd or 4th scene with Bowen that he used the original voice that he had done for him back in the recording for a hunger like no other. I feel like that higher pitched almost breathy voice really suited his character better than the super low husky voice he does for most of the male leads. I feel like a voice actor should not be limited in the voices that they do for the main characters, and I like when he switches it up a bit. though... some of the lines and ways that they're said are super cringy. It's not nearly as bad as some of the things that Sebastian says in the previous book. I got my husband to listen to these last two books which he actually enjoyed the story of but agrees with me that some of the naughty scenes are too lengthy and some of the voices just made us crack up. He now jokes about Sebastian's voice making his own Igor impression and going"oh Katya! it's sooo wheeet"
And I cannot unhear it now. I think that's why I will always prefer reading these books to listening to them but overall it was worth the time. Thank you for your job well done!

The only thing that could have made it any better is if a voice acting cast was there to switch it up for certain voices. as amazing of a job as this VA does... Mr petcock I believe is his name?, I really would like to hear female voices for the female vocals.

Quickly becoming a favorite series!

Love this world that Kresley Cole has invented....there are twists and turns and this book is no exception. I love these books because you are pretty sure everything is going to work out but you sit there baffled until the end on how the heck that is going to happen...and the ride is enjoyable!

This book was great, the charachters got really invested, and it is my favorite of the three so far. If the series ever goes on sale I'm going to have to buy every one of them...for now I have to peace meal my way through them, when I can afford to.

Wickedly Good!

After buying so many audiobooks, I have come to realize that selecting the right narrator is a fundamental step in bringing the author's vision to life. It is an art form, and when the selection doesn't work, even a great book can be rendered unlistenable. But when it works, particularly with strong source material, it is an audiobook you want to listen to over and over again and then buy every book in the series. This book is just that -- I can't image anyone could improve on Robert Petkoff's performance with Kresley Cole's books. Of course it helps that the book is simply fantastic.

A character from earlier Cole novels in the series, Bowen McReive is a tortured soul, driven to turn back time in order to bring his long deceased mate back to life. While spending all this time and effort to reunite with his former mate, it finally dawns on him, after about 34 chapters that it, that he may have had it wrong all this time. Both the male and female lead characters are strong willed, opinionated and intelligent - if a little clueless in the relationship department. Its a romance, so of course there is a happily ever after but, how they get there is all the fun, and in this case, a great ride because of the skill of the author. There is character development, humor, entertaining insults, a paranormal plot and the best secondary characters that we get to meet in later books. This is a stand alone book, but you won't really appreciate the interconnection between the characters in the series if you don't start with book one. So listen to this one but go backwards and buy the earlier audiobooks. You will enjoy the ride.

Loved the twist at the end!

Where does Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Of all the books I have listened to, this series ranks high on my list. The characters have depth, and the passion is definitely sizzling!

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character in this book is Bowen. He has intrigued me since we met him in the first book.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene is the one in the cave in the jungle when Bowen convinces Mari to come to the cave alone with him. Even though it was basically blackmail, you could have cut the sexual tension with a knife!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Nothing! I love the voices, and way they distinguish who is talking. I followed it seemlessly!

Any additional comments?

I must admit I have become a little spoiled in listening to this series. I tried to read one of them, and found I kept hearing the voice of the narrator in my head anyway! Keep em coming!

My favorite so far!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved the two main characters for different reasons. They both definitely left me fond for their supernatural races.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I definitely laughed and cried during this book.

Any additional comments?

I've enjoyed the four books I've listened to so far but this one is definitely my favorite. I have a fondness for wolves and Bowen is so very wolfy! He was hard to like at first after what we've seen of him so far in the series but this book completely redeems him in my eyes and I look forward to seeing where this series goes from here.
