For more than 300 years, Bluff House has sat above Whiskey Beach, guarding its shore - and its secrets. But to Eli Landon, it’s home.…

Female lead sounds like a dip

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The story was pretty good, typical Nora Roberts. The performance was over-acted at times and the female lead (Abra) sounds like a flighty dip. I think I would have liked her character a lot better in print.

Great job!

Whiskey Beach was a great read! She incorporated excitement, emotions, unexpected twists and turns with a bit of hot sex! Very well-balanced.

Its a fantastic listen

I loved this audiobook. The story is beautifully woven with a great screenplay. I couldn't simply stop listening to this. The fact that now I can listen to it makes me so much convenient as well for me to listen to it on go.

Mostly a crime novel

There was a romance in this crime novel, but I didn't feel the chemistry between the couple. There was a moment at the end that tugged at my emotions, but that's all. I think it was partly because the author wrote from the perspective of a male and I'm a woman. The female lead was bossy, which was sometimes irritating, but I liked the male lead. In the beginning he was hurt and beaten down by circumstances but became stronger, both physically and emotionally, mostly due to the bossy female. The narrator is good with the two lead roles, but not with the secondary characters . The crime story is entertaining and I didn't guess who the killer was.

Here is another: 5 stars all around

Nora Roberts is a witty and bright author who weaved a tale of greed and deceit. Her attention to details allowed the reader to easily visualize each scenario being described. The narrator  (Lule Daniels) easily brought all the characters to life with his expressive vocalizations.  The plot was easy to follow but didn't give the ending away until right at the end. This was a delightful book to listen to and I can't wait for another.

Had a hard time finishing it

I was bored with the story and felt that it was predictable. I usually listen to a book any chance I get, but with this one I would go days without the desire to finish it.

Did not care for new narrator

The story is a good one but the narrator was not very good at all. He kept putting me to sleep.

Review

It was good but a bit drawn out. The book could have been a bit shorter.
