How degrading. Stuck babysitting a woman because his alpha said so. As pride beta, he has better things to do with his time, like washing his impressive mane, hunting down thugs for fun, and chasing tail - sometimes his own, if his lion is feeling playful.
But his babysitting job takes an unexpected turn when the woman he's assigned guard duty over turns out to be his mate. A female threatened by an outside wolf pack. A woman he wants to call his own. A mate who doesn't fall for his charm. Usually betas leave the roaring to the pride's alpha, but in this case, given his level of frustration, he might have to make an exception. And if anyone doesn't like it, they can kiss his furry tail. Rawr!

It's a fun ride that brings a smile to your face. Entertaining and breezy, sexy and action packed it's another thrill from Eve Langlais.
The story is brought to life by a fantastic narrator, Michael Rafkin. His description of an ice cream confection made my mouth water. He gave the characters very distinctive voices and help bring out their personalities.
Since the story is about wolf and lion expect some gore, but since the story is about people
nobody rolls in it.
The hero gets his girl but having come into her own, this woman is no longer a damsel in distress.
Truly Eve Langlais and Michael Rafkin are a great combination of talents.
So sit back and enjoy the ride.
I struggled to finish from 3rd chapter. Everyone has a stupid lisp! Yes males and females both sounded entirely dumb. The inflections were off and the narrator made this book absolutely horrible.
he wanted her even though she was a wolf, but her pack wanted her too only for her money and title. He will have to fight for her and let her fight for her self but the beta will get his wolf
The book was not as interesting as the first book But still a good story. I think the narrator was off and that took away from the story. Nonetheless I have downloaded all 4 books. Worth a credit.

The narrator of this book did a fairly good job of portraying humor of Eve Langlais' writing. Her humor and WTF moments are one of the main reasons that keep me coming back and revisiting her stories.
Hayder, the male lead, for sure! I loved his naughty comments and inner dialogue with his lion self.
He did a fairly good job of getting the humor of Eve Langlais' writing to the listener.
I really wish that this narrator was doing the whole series. It can be more than a bit disconcerting, distracting, and annoying when each book has a different narrator. The different accents and timing can throw the listener off as you tend to compare the narrations instead of enjoying a good book.
Merry meet merry part till merry meet again
She ran from her troubles of wolves wanting force mate her for alpha of pack and take her monies drop her body somewhere she sure, her brother calls on Lions to help hide her no sane wolf would try that right? take her out of biggest pride but seem some wolves not so smart.
Trouble is exactly wht follows her, though she sorry for all of it she baffled every dang lion seem pumped at idea someone try something so can have violence with that idea what follow is whole lot of "fun" for putty cats.
