Predictable

Overall good story though very similar to the first installment. Faith is a foreseer Psy as opposed to Sascha's empath nature. Foreseers are rare & very valuable to the Psy community as one might expect. She seems to specialize in predicting investments which makes her especially sought after. Vaughn, a jaguar changeling, is enamored with her from the start and she eventually relents. Vaughn & Faith's experience is very much like that of Lucas & Sascha.

Angela Dawe's narration was good.

Psynet

The more of these books in the Psynet series I listen to ,the more I like the series. Faith and Vaughn are just as likable as Lucas and Sasha. I hope the next book is just as good

Reread done right!!

I’ve read the whole Psy-Changeling Series before but on this, my third or fourth reading, I decided I wanted to hear the voices in my head! Angela Dawe does a great job with all the voices, even giving the NetMind a bit of a voice, which I would have never thought of. Ms Dawe does a great job with male and female voices, where some vocal actors can’t quite get the different genders. This is a great book, written by an amazing author and read by an extremely talented voice actor!! I’d recommend the whole series, but in order!

Uniquely intense

What did you love best about Visions of Heat?

Vaughn's unbreakable belief in Faith.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Visions of Heat?

When Faith finally believed in Vaughn 100%.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice is pitch perfect and gives true passion to each character and a depth to the emotion the characters feel you can't quite feel in the books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Most definitely!!!

Any additional comments?

Recommend it to any of my friends that love paranormal and romance books.

LOVE This series

What did you love best about Visions of Heat?

This is such a saga. I will definitely read all of the books in the series. The author does a great job of developing the characters and building on the storyline from the previous book.

Eh, it was good

What did you like best about Visions of Heat? What did you like least?

I liked that Faith had a spine of steel and was willing to risk everything to find answers about her growing abilities. I'm not a fan of how Sascha thinks she knows everything about everyone's needs within the pack. And what would be best for other psy that may becoming into the DarkRiver pack.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't they way I thought it wold end but, I'm glad it did end the way it did. It set up a nice platform for other books in the series.

Which scene was your favorite?

When faith first decided to scale the fence and she showed no fear. She did it and was just fine . It showed inner strength that I don't think she knew she had.

Meh.

I don’t know what difference, if any was, about the production of this audio verse the first book on audio but the narrator did a much better job with the male voices this time around; helping me enjoy the listen more.

While the narration was MUCH better this time, the story level was about the same in Visions of Heat as it was in Slave to Sensation. By that I mean, I enjoy the concept of the Psy-Changeling world but the main characters that have been introduced so far are just lacking something. There are some secondary characters I am more interested in, so I can’t wait to get to their respective books.

I liked the couple well enough but I wanted more. Faith was a little more damsel in need than Sasha was in the first book but that’s only be she lived a more sheltered life. The Psy keeps their F-Psy “locked” away from the rest of the world because they are more imbalanced mentally and emotionally. A high percentage of them go crazy by the time they hit their 50s. Also the F-Psy makes tons of money for the Psy world with their predictions so they are seen as property.

Vaughan is your average good guy, dark alpha that has a hard time letting people get too close to him. Yes, he is sexy but I’ve seen this character type too many times to be really impressed with him as a lead.

I don’t know if it’s truly that I’m not loving this series or if it’s just that I’m having a PNR burn out. I do plan to continue this series but I’m going to take a little break and come back and maybe have a fresh ear when I listen to the next audio.

Not As Good As the First but Still Decent

I dove into this audiobook soon after listening to its predecessor because I enjoyed the world created by Nalini Singh for this series. Although exposure to the first book is not necessary for this book, it's probably worth it to get more backstory of this made-up world and some of the characters.

I found this book entertaining, but I wasn't as drawn into it as I was the first. The main characters weren't as interesting or appealing, and the story fell flat for me at times. I didn't feel convinced by the motivations of the protagonists or their eventual relationship, and the pieces of the plot could have been woven together better. This was like watching Les Miserables at your local high school: Good material to work with, it just wasn't executed as well as it could have been.

I have mixed feelings about the narrator. She's better than some other narrators, but she lacks distinction with her voices and her interpretation of the material is questionable at times.

Worth a credit for fans of the series and author.
