Victoria Lynn Chamberlain at age two, was abducted by an alien race, the Regulians. At nine, her world literally exploded when the Regulians returned, destroying Earth. She and her aunt were the only survivors thanks to another alien race, the Carinians. Now she's 18, a new graduate from their top medical school, and is ready to claim her life mate, Lucas. The handsome Carinian pilot that saved her all those years...cycles ago.
Major Lucas Matthew Zafar was decorated pilot for the Coalition, who has worked hard for every promotion and earned every decoration, despite his father being High Admiral. Nine cycles ago, he crashed on an alien world and discovered his life mate, a nine-cycle girl with flame-red hair and sparkling, green eyes. She captivates everyone around her with her strength and determination. She is his world or will be once she grows up. When he's injured in an explosion, he discovers that his wait is finally over for Victoria has more than grown up.
Together they discover what it truly means to be life mates. That it is about doing what is best for the other even if it is not the best for you. That you have to do more than just love, you have to trust and be willing to sacrifice the things you never thought you would. Moreover, if you are lucky, and the ancestors are watching over you, you just might get everything you've ever dreamed of.

I love losing myself in books of any kind
The storyline has so much potential but the author really writes for some strange reason about juvenile women with and the elder like personality or knowledge.
I truly think the author needs to change the agent background of her character the men are always old but the women the women are typically in their 20s or younger. The thing is that that she writes the women as though they've lived for 100 years. Maybe it's petty of me so silly.
The narration this book also made the characters sound even younger and immature. The females boys with much too high pitch made her sound like a seven-year-old instead of 18-year-old.
The Male narrator made the magnet me male character sound like a bratty teenager as well and I think he was in his 30s. The male main characterwas so busy telling everyone how young he is Destin made was that he himself sounded like a two-year-old throwing a temper tantrum.
Books with weak women irritate me but it looks with a weak man make me want to gag. I'm thinking this book would've been a little better had I read it and listen to it the narration in this book is just way too adolescent.
This authors writing style reminds me of one of those cheerleader moms who is like 50 but want to pretend like she's 20 and her daughter's best friend. To hit or miss for me.
half way through the digital copy the story started to skip. I made it pointless to have digital copy to listen to when it skipped the whole time.
This is how all audio books should be with sound affects and both a female and male narrator . They both were amazing making the characters stand out and bringing the story to life!!! I can't wait for the next book.
I just love M.k. Eidem's ' books on audiobook because the narration style is so entertaining and I love the stories and even the music accompanying them!
Love Lucas! I actually love all the characters in this series. It's amazing to see how Victoria has grown from the traumatized child victim from Earth to a young woman too.
All of them!!
Sweeping Sci-fi drama with romance, high drama and intrigue
More books by M.k Eidem please!
My name is Irene and I'm a lifelong bookaholic. A few years ago, I started adding audiobooks and I'm so happy I joined Audible in 2015 :-))
Hooray! Book 2 in audio & done by the same talented narration team that created M.K.'s other audiobooks. Victoria is all grown up - certainly mature beyond her years - and is ready to claim & be claimed by her lifemate, Lucas. They overcome personal obstacles to their happiness, and complete their own mission from the ancestors. It's good to have Cassandra & William still involved, and they all play a part in dealing with an added threat from within the House of Knowledge. Well worth the credit. Recommend Unreservedly.
Book-loving Brit :o)
You know, the story in this second book is great - building on the foundation from the first book.
Again with the totally unconvincing and cringeworthy 'sex' scenes tho! - they didn't add anything and I found myself gritting my teeth waiting to get back to the story!
Where's the point in spending so much time repeating virtually the same tired descriptions and hackneyed phrases each time? Really would've been better to say stuff happened much more subtly and just move along - alternatively read some of the other authors out there to get more of an idea how to incorporate this sort of activity into the storyline.
Victoria has grown up and is ready to claim Lucas, but is he ready? He has made a big mistake while waiting that almost ends their pairing before it even begins. Then He gets hurt and it is up to Victoria to treat him and get him back into a blade. but will the treatment cause him to hate her instead of love her? Then Victoria realizes that her parents and little brother are still alive on Earth and she has to get to them before it is to late.
M K Eidem is becoming one of my favorite authors. I love the sound effects and multiple narrators just add to each book. There are the usual stories within stories and it is a surprise to see how each fits in with the overall story. Now I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.
Please change Jennifer Gll, she is a really awful narrator, when reading she seems to be shouting and does not change the tone of her voice at all. Will think twice about buying any more of her books
