Bill is a dedicated young lawyer working at his family’s prestigious New York firm, who leaves everything he trained for to follow his dream and become a minister in rural Wyoming. Fast forward 38 years. Robert is a hardworking independent book publisher in Manhattan, who has given up all personal life to build his struggling business. He is looking for one big hit novel to publish. Lillibet is a young Amish woman, living as though in the 17th century, caring for her widowed father and three young brothers on their family farm. In secret at night, by candlelight, she has written the novel that burns within her, and gets it into Robert’s hands, wrapped in her hand-stitched apron. He falls in love first with the book, and then with the woman he has never met, living in the sequestered world of the Amish - a world without telephones, computers, electricity, modern conveniences, or cars. Although Lillibet faces banishment from her family and community, she embraces the opportunity to publish her novel, and is irresistibly drawn to the man who has heard her voice. Destiny is at work here. Fate draws her from her horse-and-buggy life toward his, and the publication of her novel.

In the hands of master storyteller Danielle Steel, these two remarkable relationships come together in unexpected and surprising ways, as lovers are lost, and find each other again. If it is true that real love lasts forever and lovers cannot lose each other, then Until the End of Time will not only comfort and fascinate us, as destiny does her dance, but it will give us hope as well. Love and fate are powerful, irresistible forces, as Steel proves to us here, in a book about courage, change, risk, and hope...and love that never dies.

"Brilliant characters acting heroically - no losers"

These are stories that make us believe in the power of eternal love - and the characters in this book show their attraction to each other in a playful, fun loving way, with lightness of heart and spirit.
My only issue was that this was two separate stories - and I wanted each to be longer, fuller and to have a more drawn-out ending. Perhaps just that I didn't want to leave behind my lovers when the story ended.

What would have made Until the End of Time better?

this was such an awful read. a beautiful story turned into a horror. left me feeling awful so many times. she must have been going through a very dark time to write this.
then confusing to read a completely different story and horrible way to mix them together
    yuch!!!

What was most disappointing about Danielle Steel’s story?

putting us through a very sad awful read because she herself was going through a bad period
i trusted her as I always have

What does Nick Podehl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

great narrator enjoyed listening to him read her bad choice of storyline

    "And That's Another Story!"

Danielle Steel once again weaves a story that pulls you into each character and illustrates by word how very much the twists and turns of life direct us from joy to sadness while once again lifting the human spirit .

"What this feeling, I can't explain it with words."
What did you love best about Until the End of Time?

Why New York? with this title? But they were blending totally smoothly while reading on.
“Until the End of Time” moved me extraordinarily. I love it that’s because I felt special feeling occurred, for a long while, even I finished reading it! What a feeling, I wonder?

I would like you to read this book as a wife now or was a wife then.
Love is a painting never faded away and the power would last beyond its dimension.

What other book might you compare Until the End of Time to and why?

As I recently have read "Friends Forever" I would have to compare with as characters' death.
This book treats someone's death in totally different way. Its power, mysterious power.

Which character – as performed by Nick Podehl – was your favorite?

He is awesome, he is great, I like Lillibet; a young Amish woman.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Your soul is made from love, which has spiritual mind and feeling!

Until the End of Time is about nine hours of listening, read by Nick Podehl.

Danielle Steel is one of the most prolific writers in America today. As a reader, you either love her or hate her, there really is no in-between, and she has legions of fans. If you are ever in the mood for sweet romance, meaning a teenaged girl can read the book, pick up a Danielle Steel novel. It’s easy to become absorbed, the stories are not gray-matter growth material; they aren’t intended to be. Danielle Steel is a die-hard romantic, and directs her talents to that end, pretty much exclusively.

Most stories involve a strong female lead, as does Until the End of Time, except with this story, two female leads. You’ll actually be enjoying two romance tales … double bang for the buck. There are ome unique, and sometimes quirky, characters and the trials and tribulations of each traverse the pages. A typical, Danielle Steelesque, satisfying conclusion.

A research criticism. There is an element of reincarnation, which is fine, but one of the main characters expressing a strong belief in this phenomenon is a minister. That doesn’t sit well with me … the minister is christian … christians don’t believe in reincarnation. Danielle should have opted for a different profession.

I’m pretty simple when it comes to critique of a narrator. If I don’t have to re-wind to determine who-is-talking-to-who, I’m good. Ergo, Nick Podehl does a nice reading, a decent production.

Did I say ‘boy gets girl’? Twice … in Until the End of Time. Enjoy.

Took a stab at what I hoped would be something light. I discovered, that I'm not the audience for this kind of predictable, superficial romance. Must be me, though. Steel's been around for a very long time.

I listened to this in the car on a long journey, I found the story line quite gripping but was disappointed when the book almost started again with another story about different characters with a twist at the end. I would have liked the first part of the book to not have such an abrupt end! Good listening though, this was the first audio book I have listened to .....
