Publisher's summary

Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. In this heart-pounding follow-up to Tangled by New York Times best seller Emma Chase, Kate reveals that there is trouble in paradise, when unexpected circumstances force her and Drew to "renegotiate" their relationship.

There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself - and of me.

But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice; the most important of my life. Drew already made his - in fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville, Ohio, alone. Well, sort of alone...

What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead.

Twisted

Drew and Kate are extremely happy until Kate thinks she's getting the flu only to find out she may be pregnant. Going behind drews back she wrote in her appointment book bob, as to her friend Roberta who's a gynecologist. Drew gets the wrong idea and crushes their hope of a happy ending which in turn out her back home to her Ex Billy. Can these two really work it out. Or will they go their separate ways? Great read.

The story was sort of hard to believe

I had to go to Google and ask “did Drew know Kate was pregnant?” It was so unclear and so not believable. I preferred Tangled only because of the dual narrators. I will listen to the rest of the series and hopefully like what’s to come!

Not as bad as everyone makes it seem

If you could sum up Twisted in three words, what would they be?

Surprising, mildly boring

What was one of the most memorable moments of Twisted?

Billy singing to Kate

What three words best describe Charlotte Penfield’s voice?

Decent, natural, fitting

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not particularly.

Any additional comments?

I stayed away from this book for a long time. Reviews were terrible. I heard Drew was a jerk, Kate was whiny, I went in expecting to hate it. Yes the plot is based on a misunderstanding caused by Drew jumping to the wrong conclusions. But the results aren't that bad. From what people said I thought there was cheating involved. If that's keeping you away, don't worry. It's just a kiss. Don't get me wrong, he still acts like a jerk but it's just not as bad as it sounded from reviews. Kate also didn't bug me. I didn't find her whiny or obnoxious. Just a little boring.

Not as good as Tangled

I am disappointed in Kate for sure. The drug use and her affiliation with her hometown boyfriend is s total disappointment. I really liked her character in Tangled. Drew is,
for the most part, the same self centered male he was in Tangled, but I really missed the one liners and side conversations he had in Tangled.
There was definitely not the funny moments in this book as in Tangled. Those moments were another aspect of Tangled that has made it one of my favorites in my play list. Not sure I want to listen to other books in this series.
York was great as always!

Looking forward to the third book. It was obvious how it was going to work out but I was excited to hear every moment.

Made me cry and cracked me up

It was a bit frustrating that most of the story was just a circumventing around the huge misunderstanding and their assumptions... when I was getting to the point of disappointment she finally said the word baby... omg did she have to get to 80% of the story to verbalize that to whom it really mattered?! so, although I thought the story had its funny, witty and very emotional moments, I really think the misunderstanding took too much of the story for such a short period of time it took for them to get to talk... Maybe a longer span of time, she getting to do stuff on her own and work on herself in the meantime instead of just getting stoned and drunk which was quite unnecessary.

New POV

Like Tangled, in this book the story is told in review by Kate. Again , it is an interesting way to do a book since none of the story is current until the end. After hearing the two books that way , I think I prefer a current time both POVs being covered. However the books are good. Charlotte Perfield is also a good narrator (nothing beats Sebastian York for sheer sex on a stick though) but I was glad that SY also narrated the end. This series is the first books I've read by Emma Chase and I would read more of her stuff.
