Publisher's summary

The star: Joley Drake was born with a legacy of unexpected magical gifts, but it was the gift of singing that made her an overnight sensation - a rock-and-roll goddess trapped by fame, fortune, and ambition. Heated by the flush of success, Joley could have any man she wanted. But there¿s only man who can give her what she really needs.

The bodyguard: Ilya Prakenskii, cool, inscrutable, dangerously sexy, and working in the shadow of his infamous reputation - that of a secret Russian hit man on the payroll of a notorious mobster. He's the last man Joley should get close to, yet when her life is threatened on tour, she has nowhere left to turn. But in the seductive safe keep of Ilya's embrace, is Joley really as secure as she imagines?

Definitely worth the read

I love Christine Feehan's stories of the Drake sisters, and this one did not disappoint. The story grabbed my attention from the beginning and held it throughout. The narration is excellent. Highly recommend this as a great "get away" book.

Really like this series, the narrator..not so much

Any additional comments?

I really like this series, and this book is probably my favorite so far. The narrator, on the other hand, is not my favorite. All in all, I would definately purchase this book again. It was worth my credit.

Turbulent Sea

It is an amazing and well deserving experience for the musician. Including all they have been through. Wanting to grow with their family and friends. Having worked together and grown with their music and the good job they have done with each other. While they have made it and success came at a huge price. Some were brought on by people they have known and have been working with them. It ended just the way one expected and the love that Jolley and Ilya found after running from each other. At the point of breaking down she came to accept him, it changed her life he stayed to protect her from all. It has been a great story and one cannot be helped but one can see how this team members are, and had loved each other. It is also sad for Brain that he had fallen in love with the wrong person. Only for him to lose him but he did fix what was wrong by him putting him in danger. Time will tell if he will found love again.

Great Novel

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. Joley and Ilya are such interesting characters. The story is very good and it often made me laugh. Ilya's background would be an interesting story if the author ever decides to write a book about him. Another wonderfully complex adventure, bravo!

Fated Romantic Suspense

Joley is the Drake sister born with the gift of spell singing. Ilya is a Russian hit man on the payroll of a mobster.
He’s undercover trying to do his job and also trying to protect Joley.
The attraction is fated. Did he happen to mention that he’s also the 7th son of a 7th son?
Bresnahan did ok with narration.
