An enjoyable story!

The main character was very likeable, but some incidents in the story line were predictable. Never the less, the entire story fun and believe able.

3.5 Overall.

A light romance and although far from my favorite it was an easy listen. The book was a bit more of the mafia genre than I usually like, which is just not my taste. Overall I liked the heroine but she was sometimes a bit of a rag. Hero seemed to perfect to be true, but since this is fiction he was scrumptious Count. I did enjoy this book even with its minor faults. I would read another book from this author if there was a sale, but probably not if I had to pay full price or a credit. Narrator was good, I have always enjoyed her work.

Funny, cute, and sexy

This is the perfect read when you want to escape, and you want to chuckle! The heroine is the kind I like - she doesn't take guff from anyone (except her father, and that changes). The hero is sexy, romantic, and funny. He also turns out to be vulnerable. A light, fun story.

Excellent narration! She voiced the various characters perfectly. I will look for more from this narrator!

You also have to just not think about whether the story all makes sense - just go with the flow. The supposed actions of the FBI or CIA have nothing to do with reality, and the story line about Roberto's father simply isn't needed in the story. Still, I enjoyed it and it made a day of cleaning out the basement go quickly and pleasurably!

Good story.

The story line was a mystery with romance thrown in. I liked the story a lot but I had trouble relating to the narrator's voice for the Italian leading man. It came across as anything but the sexy Italian man he was supposed to be. She wasn't a bad narrator, it was just that her men's voices were not credible.

Maybe she was alone in the recording studio

Why/how would Amanda not know how to pronounce Roberto? Beyond the fact she had Roberto mostly sounding like Count Dracula, I half expected some character in the story to pronounce his name correctly, I just couldn't fathom how such a simple thing was so grossly missed. If his name had not been said in about every other sentence it would not have bothered me so much...oh well the Daily Deal is what it is!

Great distraction

Exactly, what you need to distract yourself- Light hearted farfetched romance. The father set my teeth on edge, reminding me too much of my own difficult dad. I almost stopped listening because of him. Glad I didn't, because the protagonist perceveerd.

Amanda Ronconni is one of my very favorite narrators.

Loved it!

If you could sum up Trouble in High Heels in three words, what would they be?

Lots of fun!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Brandi. She was upfront and funny. I really liked most of the characters.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I really like her. I've listened to several books narrated by her and she does am excellent job.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not sure, but it would make a great movie. I'd go see it.

Entertaining but very predictable...

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I didn't think Amanda Ronconi's voice for Brandy fit her description, so that irritating me a little bit. But I loved her accents and voices for the other characters. It wasn't a deal breaker, just not what I would imagine her voice sounding like.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not really, it was just a distraction for my daily commute to where if I skipped a few pages I was never really lost. The story is very predictable but who doesn't like a good Cinderella type love story? I doubt I would listen to this book again, but it kept me entertained during my long commute so I gave it 4 stars.

Any additional comments?

I liked the different character voices so you never get bored. Cute story.

Really fun book that kept me guessing!

What did you love best about Trouble in High Heels?

Really enjoyed this book. This was a new author to me that I tried during a sale, and I'm glad I did! The story was solid with a few LOL's, but the mystery kept me guessing almost until the very end. If you like Janet Evanovich type chic lit, you will enjoy this book!

What other book might you compare Trouble in High Heels to and why?

Janet Evanovich books...fun mystery with a little romance blended in
