This Man Series

This was my second time listening to books 1-3, and my first time listening to book #4. Number four three me a little at first since the voice inflections for the narration seemed different. I grew use to the difference, and still enjoyed the listening experience.

***SPOILER ALERT ***

I enjoyed Jessie’s and Ava’s journey, though
I was saddened by the fact that the only (?) African-American in the storyline, John, did not find the happiness he deserved and was killed. That occurrence gave me food for thought.

The Truth is Finally Revealed

I am so, so sorry the story of Jesse and Ava is over, but Wow! what an ending!!! Everything was wrapped up so beautifully, but now I am left so bereft, what will I do without my Jesse Ward fix? Thank you for giving us this beautiful and wild ride Jodi Ellen Malpas!!

SIMPLY THE BEST ENDING TO AN EPIC TRILOGY

For those of you who have listened to the previous two books in the series then hold on to your seats because you're in for an intense, stunning, emotional ride (which I'm not going to give any spoilers away) and for anyone who hasn't yet listened to any of them then don't start here because you'll be missing an awesome, passionate, all consuming, romantic trilogy that'll quite simply blow you socks off.

Well they're back.... Jesse's still Lord of the Manor, he's possessive, demanding, overbearing, bossy, protective and so in love with Ava it hurts (and I love love love him) but he's also terrified he's going to lose her and that makes him so vulnerable it hurts. Ava's still on Cloud 9 Jesse but ahead is a heartbreaking decision, a dilemma to face and Jesse's skeletons just keep coming out to test their love. They're constantly adding to their sleepy sex, hard sex, morning sex, twilight sex... etc., which is, of course, delicious but they're growing as people, they're learning what the other needs and trying to give it. But...

There is sooo very many hurdles to overcome as, chapter by chapter they're slowly painfully revealed and they'll have you gasping, pulling your hair out, crying, screaming, swooning and smiling so much so that your nearest n dearest will be tempted to call for the men in white with a straight jacket just for you. There's so many plot twist, surprises, secrets, new characters, threats and suspense, danger and tension along with their passionate heart-achingly beautiful and drama filled love, that you'll feel like the ball in a pinball machine.

This well-written, well narrated listen will woo you, WOW you, frustrate you, shock you, captivate you and totally mesmerise you but it'll also sweep you off your feet with their tender, sweet, brutal, passionate, hurtful, touching but unconditional love that you're left emotionally drained, exhausted, sad it's over and so blissfully, mindblowingly contented at the outcome of their HEA. To top it all off the Epilogue is told from Jesse's POV and NEVER has there been a sweeter ending.

Worth a credit? When you invest so many listening hours to a trilogy you come to love the characters, feel for them, bleed with them and you know that they will haunt your thoughts and you know you're going to miss them so, worth a credit?, HELL YEAH a 10 Star listen.

I would have to say all the way! He is so strong and never backs down from what he wants and goes after it!

Any additional comments?

I have read all of these books and but waited to listen to them too! I know crazy but I'm glad I did. the story was changed a little and made on my toes to whole time. I love Jess. In my heart he is above Grey and in line with Giddeon, he is strong and knows what he wants and takes no for an answer. When I need a Jesse fix I listen to the story again......

Be Still My Heart!!!

Whew! Be still my Heart!!! This end to the book, it definitely came full circle for me. I love, love love this series. The best ever. Plus I love Ms. Malpas' way of telling a story. It captures you from the beginning till the end. NEVER A DULL MOMENT! I was trying to slow down my listening so it doesn't end, and at the same time, I wanted to keep listening so I can hear what happens next. It had it's usual ups and downs, and flung my emotions to the left and then the right and back again to the left. The love between Jesse and Ava is so palpable, you can feel it off the pages. Their marriage and trials and tribulations throughout the wedding and after the wedding was heartbreaking. I felt so much pain and sadness, joy and happiness and most of all, Love for these characters. It definitely took me for a well-worth emotional ride. I will re-read the series soon enough to catch what I might have missed. I'll wait a bit though so I can miss it enough to appreciate it a second time. Ms. Malpas, please write faster so I can read all your books. I love the way your mind works and the journey you books take me through. I love it. I can't get enough of it. If you are looking for a true romance, mystery and adventure, this is the book for you. Of course this is the end to the series so please don't start with this. The first book was This man: This man Trilogy, the second was Beneath this man, and this was of course the third. Worth the money I paid for them! My best read of the year so far. The narration was the best also. All the characters had thier own identities even the supporting characters and the international characters and it made you follow seamlessly. Awesome series!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it's a wonderful escape from your everyday stressful life. I enjoyed every single minute of it and am sorry that it is the final installment. All good things must come to an end though...

What did you like best about this story?

I really enjoyed the fact that the author still kept me guessing in this last book. There were still surprises that came out of nowhere!

Have you listened to any of Edita Brychta’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have only listened to her with the "This Man" trilogy but I would love to listen to some of her other audiobooks. She is excellent at bringing the characters to life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Jesse's final confession to Eva toward the end of the book was really moving and it explained why he behaved the way he did toward her through their entire relationship.

Any additional comments?

I will definitely look for other books by Jodi Ellen Malpas in the future. I love her writing style and her ability to hold my attention!
