Worth a listen & a credit

Edita Brychta does a real nice job with the narratoriation. I dont always enjoy books with one narrator, but she made it an easy listen. This story is good with lots of steam. I did start to get a little bored with the back and forth of the two main characters, but not enough to stop listening. On to book two.

Chalk up another victim of the Fifty Shades fad. I will never understand what is attractive about a male character who is an overbearing, disrespectful, won't take "no" for an answer jerk. Why is it entertaining to witness the disintegration of a competant, self-sufficient woman? This man goes beyond 'alpha' or 'possessive'. He's a freakin stalker. Not romantic. Its not that I found the sex scenes shocking, just unhealthy.
Guess I didn't do my homework and the publisher's description was, shall we say "incomplete".
If you are put off by the Fifty Shades sub-genre, skip this one.

IF I COULD GIVE IT MORE THAN 5 STARS I WOULD

Intense, addictive, emotional and yes erotic, it had me absolutely consumed and hooked until the bitter end. This listen should come with a warning - not because of it's explicit content, but because Jesse and Ava's story will take over your thoughts and your life as you become swept up in their emotional roller-coaster love life and the secrets held within.

As you're captivated by the gorgeous drool-worthy Jesse and his desperation for Ava you become torn between loving and hating him but, as his vulnerability wins out, you start rooting for him and hoping Ava will just give him a chance.

It's one of those rare listens that you just don't want it to end and when it does you're emotions are at breaking point and all you can think of is "it can't end, and not like that, I need MORE MORE MORE". Thankfully book 2 is out which I'm desperate to listen to but I owe it to my family and friends to at least say "hi" before I'm again consumed in this wonderful, tragic, passionate, sexy, gripping love affair.

Worth a credit? Oh boy, is it ever, YES YES YES.

Should be a movie

Forget fifty shades this series would make a very good adult movie. Loved everything about this series. How could you not fall in love with all of them. The twist and turns, the love and sex was great. Will take awhile to withdraw from this story.

Jodi Ellen doesn't disappoint...

This is the first book I read that was along the lines of "This Man". It was extremely intense, provocative, sensuous, erotic & libidinous. I was hook from the first time Ava saw Jesse. I had to finish the book immediately. I have read it numerous times & own the Audible version so I can listen as often as I wish. As I said the book is intense & it is Jesse that makes it so. I don't want to give anything away but it is a great beginning of a story of a couple exploring eachother intimately.

Since I am reviewing the Audible version (I reviewed the book on 2013), I do want to say that Edita Brychta is excellent. Her silky smooth voice lends a great sensuality to the story. One I couldn't find while reading. And I LOVE that she didn't change up her voice for the various parts. She made it very obvious which character was speaking.

The story does end on cliffhanger which I don't mind. I know many readers don't like it so be warned. But I'm here to tell you it's so worth it. Jodi Ellen, Ava & Jesse do not disappoint.

Loved This Man. But the audio book does not go with the book. It left so much out. I had a hard time trying to find out the I was suppose to be. It was all over the place. I wished it was in sync with the book. I hope the other two audio books are in sync with the books.

I must admit Both main characters got on my nerves but I loved them as if I knew them. I kinda secretly wish I had a Jesse Ward. book 2 here I come

can't get enough of listening to this book. it gets better every time I listen to it.

Slow Moving

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story line took a back seat to the erotica. I prefer a good balance of the two.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting part of the book is the good twist in the end that the author finally got to. This is when the story line got good. But the book repeated itself the first 26 chapters. I also didn't like the nature of their relationship. He was controlling and abusive to some degree, and she just never addresed it even after aknowledging the behavior.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene is when she finally walked out.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Not sure, I need to see how the main female character acts in the second book...I guess the book is good enough to have me wondering what happens next.
