Book 1 of This Man Trilogy, the number-one New York Times best-selling series!
Young interior designer Ava O'Shea has no idea what awaits her at the Manor. A run-of-the-mill consultation with a stodgy country gent seems likely, but what Ava finds instead is Jesse Ward - a devastatingly handsome, utterly confident, pleasure-seeking playboy who knows no boundaries. Ava doesn't want to be attracted to this man, and yet she can't control the overwhelming desire that he stirs in her. She knows that her heart will never survive him and her instinct is telling her to run, but Jesse is not willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her.

I am not a newbie when it comes to Alpha males, but honestly ..Mr.Jesse Ward takes the immature cake as well as the Heroine . I do enjoy strong characters, intense sex scenes and mystery in novels. However I cannot tolerate the immaturity in this story. So disappointed in this..considering the hype behind it. Narration was good, accent and character voice distingtion was well done. Too bad the story didn't fare as well.
I have 3 super kids & 4 grands. I have been married for 35 yrs. I'm an asst director at a child care center. I use Audible to help me relax!
This is the first book I read that was along the lines of "This Man". It was extremely intense, provocative, sensuous, erotic & libidinous. I was hook from the first time Ava saw Jesse. I had to finish the book immediately. I have read it numerous times & own the Audible version so I can listen as often as I wish. As I said the book is intense & it is Jesse that makes it so. I don't want to give anything away but it is a great beginning of a story of a couple exploring eachother intimately.
Since I am reviewing the Audible version (I reviewed the book on 2013), I do want to say that Edita Brychta is excellent. Her silky smooth voice lends a great sensuality to the story. One I couldn't find while reading. And I LOVE that she didn't change up her voice for the various parts. She made it very obvious which character was speaking.
The story does end on cliffhanger which I don't mind. I know many readers don't like it so be warned. But I'm here to tell you it's so worth it. Jodi Ellen, Ava & Jesse do not disappoint.
Yes, and I am now. Their relationship just just blows me away, I am trying to see what hints get dropped that conclude the series that I missed.
There were many, it keeps you wanting more. If I had to pick just one, when he took her into his office to see his wall!
Again, there were too many to choose just one and again, if I have to pick just one, when he took her into his office to see the wall.
Very extreme....I laughed, cried, sighed, got angry, breathtaking and just WOW!
I have also read the 50 shades trilogy, and the hacker series from Meredith Wild. This one blows them away. If it's BDSM erotica you are looking for, this one isn't for you. If it is an erotic, steamy, sexy love story that will make you fall in love, this is it. Words cannot describe the connection Jesse and Ava have in this trilogy and every couple should be so lucky to know just a fraction of their soul connecting passionate chemistry. Jesses' love for Ava takes my breath away!
I love books! Discovering Audible, I've fallen in love with characters even more that I once read aloud to myself!
Long story short - Ava will probably get on your nerves a little bit, & you wish Jesse existed, SO overall so worth the buy!
This is such a great story and I would listen to it again in a heartbeat! The characters are so wonderful and the narrator is really good at telling the story.
When Eva finally gives in to Jesse for the first time you could feel the tension finally release between the two. The chemistry between them literally made me stop what I was doing to listen until the scene was over!
Edita Brychta is fantastic at bringing the characters to life...even the men in the story. She puts so much emotion into every scene in the book.
When Eva finally finds out the truth about "The Manor", the events that follow are so dramatic and emotionally draining on all the characters that you really feel it.
I am already enjoying the sequel! Can't wait to listen to the third one as well!
It was tough to get through this book and I think it had to do with the fact that it felt like it was on repeat. I also did not care for the ending.
This book is simply amazing. Excellent narration and story. Hot, sexy, and drama all rolled up into one story. Well worth the credit :)
For the story...I struggled with a certain scene... (I thought his actions in a kitchen scene were a little too....non-consensual)...otherwise I enjoyed this book.
I always love this narrator's performance
