Book 1 of This Man Trilogy, the number-one New York Times best-selling series!
Young interior designer Ava O'Shea has no idea what awaits her at the Manor. A run-of-the-mill consultation with a stodgy country gent seems likely, but what Ava finds instead is Jesse Ward - a devastatingly handsome, utterly confident, pleasure-seeking playboy who knows no boundaries. Ava doesn't want to be attracted to this man, and yet she can't control the overwhelming desire that he stirs in her. She knows that her heart will never survive him and her instinct is telling her to run, but Jesse is not willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her.

hate to say I'm hopeless romantic. I'm also realistic, funny, straight forward. Enjoy a good gripping audible book to take me away.
Ava and Jesse are quit a pair. You want to keep them together threw the entire story. I think I have another author I like.
Yes, I can put this title on repeat. I have actually change my GPS voice to UK English because I love this audible so much.
Jesse Ward, each time he shouts to EVA "watch your mouth" even during the sexy times., especially during the sexy times.
Both Ava and Jesse was brilliant.
It made me LOL so much I had to slow down in my car and repeat several chapters just to hear it again.
I listen to this ebook first and have not read the kindle version. However, I have since purchase the paperback just so I can have this book at my fingertips when I am away from my car. I don't know what listening to my radio means. Its constantly on THIS MAN
I am addicted to audiobooks. It makes my 1 hour (each way) commute go by without me becoming an agressive driver. lol
This was a very interesting book that gave me anxiety every step of the way. I understand dominance, but this is crazy, over-the-top dominance. Jesse is gorgeous, sexy, and extremely rich. But along with that comes crazy. Ava is beautiful, young, talented and must be crazy to fall in love with him. Despite all of this craziness, I really liked the book. I do believe that Jesse is a little psycho. But, he does love her and she loves him. I thought Jodi did a great job of building the characters. They were very understandable, even being crazy. What does that make me since I can relate? However, the story is a bit like "Groundhog Day". I enjoyed Edita's narration. Now, on to book number two.
I haven't wanted to slap a a character so bad before. There is a point were is control of her stop being hot. She was stupid and her best friend has no loyalty to her in my opinion. I didn't care about any of the characters because they were all annoying.
This book is repetitive and unnecessary. Ava constantly went between orgasms and indecisiveness. Jesse was domineering and powerful, but lacked depth beyond the sex scenes. It felt like they were high schoolers, just drama for drama's sake. I gave up 9hrs, 21minutes in because I couldn't take it anymore.
You'll like this book if you are into emotionally unstable people and relationships. You'll especially like it if you are okay with emotionally unstable characters that show no growth. They just accept things the way they are or just run away and ignore each other. Honestly, Ava is passive about Jesse being too controlling and his relationship with Sarah, but doesn't say anything. Jesse just stalks her until she gives in and has sex with him. Jesus, that's so alarming.
There's nothing wrong with submissive storylines, but this book was a deeply infuriating rollercoaster.
I have 3 super kids & 4 grands. I have been married for 35 yrs. I'm an asst director at a child care center. I use Audible to help me relax!
This is the first book I read that was along the lines of "This Man". It was extremely intense, provocative, sensuous, erotic & libidinous. I was hook from the first time Ava saw Jesse. I had to finish the book immediately. I have read it numerous times & own the Audible version so I can listen as often as I wish. As I said the book is intense & it is Jesse that makes it so. I don't want to give anything away but it is a great beginning of a story of a couple exploring eachother intimately.
Since I am reviewing the Audible version (I reviewed the book on 2013), I do want to say that Edita Brychta is excellent. Her silky smooth voice lends a great sensuality to the story. One I couldn't find while reading. And I LOVE that she didn't change up her voice for the various parts. She made it very obvious which character was speaking.
The story does end on cliffhanger which I don't mind. I know many readers don't like it so be warned. But I'm here to tell you it's so worth it. Jodi Ellen, Ava & Jesse do not disappoint.
I love books! Discovering Audible, I've fallen in love with characters even more that I once read aloud to myself!
Long story short - Ava will probably get on your nerves a little bit, & you wish Jesse existed, SO overall so worth the buy!
