Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.
The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.
Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.
Sebastian Ellingham isn't known for being a happy vampire. And when his long estranged wife returns expecting to pick up where they left off, things take a sharp turn toward cranky. Sure he's been protecting her for centuries, but her assumption that he's still available (he is) rankles.
His answer is to hire a woman to play his fiancée. The lucky victim is Tessa Blythe, sister of one of the town's deputies, librarian in need of a job and, oh yes, reluctant Valkyrie. Playing along with Sebastian is all about the end game: earning the position of Dean of Library Studies at the local private academy.
When unexpected sparks fly between them, they agree to mutually deny the attraction. Fate, however, has other plans....

Just Another Audiobook Addict! Love listening to all types of romances, but occasionally need a good Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or a book with humor!
I adore and love the Nocturne Falls series! Each book is a clean, romantic, suspenseful, funny, and book five, The Vampire's Fake Fiancée, is a great example of another well written story by Kristen Painter.
Nocturne Falls is about the super naturals that live in the town that celebrates Halloween 365; it's original, with lots of creativity. While the stories are about the Hero and Heroin falling in love, each story will include some of the other well know characters, and take us to some of the local shops that have the coolest names, like the pub called DOI (Drinks On Arrival), or Howlers, Mummy's the diner, Ever After the local bridal shop, and many more. Each story is unique while building up the town and the characters.
As usual B.J. Harrison narrations is awesome! He does a great job giving each character their own voice, conveying the different emotions throughout the story, and is consistent from one book to the next.
I highly recommend the Nocturne Falls series for any PNR fan who loves their stories clean and fun!
absolutely love this series of books! The characters are funny and interesting, there's always neat little twist and turns to the plot, and the narration is amazing!
everytime I think I found my favorite book in the series here comes the next one and it's better than the last!
Say something about yourself!
The narrator brings each character to life.
The way Tessa was able to help Sebastian to learn to live again and how he helped her to be able to accept who she was. Both had problems but they saved each other.
you get to hear and feel the emotions of each character. You can't bet this from reading.
I listen to these at work and i cannot get enough. It seems like it is time to go home and i hate having to stop listening. I just love love this series
This is one of the best series/ i am so glad my friend and i found these books. Can't wait till the next.
I love reading and I have come to love listening to books. I am a quite person who does not like a whole lot of drama.
I love this series. Kirsten Painter draws you in and make you want more and more.
B.J.Harrison reads Kristen Painter's work fabulously.
That both Sebastian and Tessa discovered that they could change for the right person
Sebastian because he is so complicated
When Tessa drew her sword.
Loved it and you will too
I love romantic historical novels.
Worth your money or Credit👍
It's fun, sweet and a always makes me smile at the end 😊
Over 60 years old. Still working in the same company for 42 years. Love listening to books.
Tessa's mild manner and Sebastian's stand offish ways - seemed to draw them together making them their true selves.
When Tessa came to terms with her true self, and used her sword to help Sebastian.
Yes, but only in this series. He is great!!
Yes - I have loved all the books in this series.
Finally Sebastian gets some happiness! He is introverted and so is the new librarian/valkyrie. The nasty vampire he married centuries ago is in town, just as mean and nasty as ever. The story is good, engrossing, and fun. Glad to have read this installment! See publisher's blurb for more clues to plot.
BJ Harrison continues to be the best narrator the folks of Nocturne Falls could have.
I THINK THIS MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE SO FAR!! LOVE THIS COUPLE AND THE EXCITING STORY BEHIND THEM. EXCITEMENT AND SUSPENSE TOO! GREAT LOVE STORY AND REALLY WANT MORE OF THEM!!!
ALL OF IT!!
ALL OF IT!
This is a fun, witty, laugh out loud series. In this book I loved the banter between the characters and look forward to seeing a LOT more coming out of that school library! I am gobbling these books up. :)
Loved this book, it was so funny and so good. I really liked Sebastian, he's a great character and we finally got to meet the infamous Evangeline! Really did not like her! Loved Tessa though and her adorable little kitten Duncan. Can't wait for more in this series!
I'm sorry to say that after listening to all five books in the Nocturne Falls Series by Kristen Painter I must admit that these five, cute, and well written stories are going to be returned.
If I was looking for a gentle PG rated introduction to romantic fiction for a young teenager then this series is perfect.
There is no doubt in my opinion that this author is talented and Kristen Painter paired with the wonderful vocal performances of B.J. Harrison has been lovely.😐
