Publisher's summary

Ryder is the hardest Montgomery brother to figure out - with a tough-as-nails outside and possibly nothing too soft underneath. He’s surly and unsociable, but when he straps on a tool belt, no woman can resist his sexy swagger. Except, apparently, Hope Beaumont, the innkeeper of his own Inn BoonsBoro....

As the former manager of a D.C. hotel, Hope is used to excitement and glamour, but that doesn’t mean she can’t appreciate the joys of small-town living. She’s where she wants to be - except for in her love life. Her only interaction with the opposite sex has been sparring with the infuriating Ryder, who always seems to get under her skin. Still, no one can deny the electricity that crackles between them…a spark that ignited with a New Year’s Eve kiss.

While the inn is running smoothly, thanks to Hope’s experience and unerring instincts, her big-city past is about to make an unwelcome - and embarrassing - appearance. Seeing Hope vulnerable stirs up Ryder’s emotions and makes him realize that while Hope may not be perfect, she just might be perfect for him…

Best of the Three

What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings good voice inflections to the characters.

Any additional comments?

The first two books of this series were kind of slow and boring, but this one held my attention and made me giggle. Ryder is the most interesting of the characters.

My heart goes pitter patter

Every time I listen to these books my heart melts into a pile of mush! I have listened to these books multiple times and love every minute of them! There's a little bit of mystery, some suspense, but the best romantic novel I've ever listened to! McLeod Andrews is a very talented narrator who pulls at your heart strings with each character he portrays. Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

My favorite in the series.

I loved the first book in this trilogy but got a little bored with the second so I debated not reading the third. I saw other reviews that said Nora Roberts saved the best for last and I completely agree! I really enjoyed it.

Ryder is tough and sexy...

What did you love best about The Perfect Hope?

How Hope finally breaks Ryder's shield of toughness. I love the way MacLeod Andrews delivers Ryder. He does all three brothers so well and mimics their personality to a T.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Becket is always my favourite because he's just fantastic but Ryder is rough and sexy and I like him too because under it all, he has a soft heart.

Which scene was your favorite?

Where Ryder gets a bit embarrassed but I don't want to spoil it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was, they all were.

Any additional comments?

I love the trilogy because they're lovely romantic stories and because MacLeod Andrews did an awesome job of delivering.

Again, bad narration, good story

It is such a shame that the narration is so bad on this trilogy. The story is good, and I could, "almost", identify with the characters. However, the narration continues to be a problem. This time, I was unable to speed the narrator up to a reasonable speed by increasing the playback to 1.5x ... it was way too fast in this novel. So, I just had to suffer through the LONG pauses and drawn out sentences.

The story is good.. the plot and romance was typical Nora..

I'd just avoid this narrator in the future.

I have mixed feelings about recommending this listen.. if you can stand long, long pauses.. and a slow reader,.. ok.

Actually, it is a great substitute for a sleeping pill!

Sweet 3rd

Narration very slow, speed up to 1.25x and it's perfect.

Enjoyed the last book of the series, sweet and light.

Enjoyed this series very much.

It needs one more book! I really enjoyed these characters. It seems like there is more to develop with this family as each book developed deeper and grew the characters. You want more.

Best Ending Ever!!

This Trilogy was the best I’ve ever read. I only wish there were more books about the Inn at Boonsboro. MacLeod Andrews brought every character to life and makes me want to live in their town and go to all the places they go. The end of this trilogy was the best ending of any book I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. I will read this trilogy again someday, to laugh and cry with my friends from the Inn.
