Publisher's summary

Emily Ross never expected to survive her deadly fall in the Costa Rican jungle, and she certainly never thought she'd wake up in a strangely futuristic dwelling, held captive by the most beautiful man she'd ever seen. A man who seems to be more than human.

Zaron is on Earth to facilitate the Krinar invasion - and to forget the terrible tragedy that ripped apart his life. Yet when he finds the broken body of a human girl, everything changes. For the first time in years, he feels something more than rage and grief, and Emily is the reason for that. Letting her go would compromise his mission, but keeping her could destroy him all over again.

This is a full-length, standalone romance that takes place approximately five years before The Krinar Chronicles trilogy. You do not have to have listened to that trilogy to enjoy this book.

Hot Sci Fi

Talk about having a run of bad luck! Emily Ross has lost her job. Not that she’s gonna let it stop her from taking her pre-planned vacation to Costa Rica. But when Emily ends up alone on a rickety old bridge hanging on for dear life, sitting at home perusing the want ads seems much more appealing!

Zaron is an alien, who’s come to Earth to lay the groundwork for his species to invade Earth. When he hears Emily’s cry for help, he rushes to her aid. Zaron is too late and Emily lays broken and near death on the rocks below the bridge. Something about this human brings out Zoran’s protective instincts and he’s determined to use all his advanced medical technology to save her. The burning question is, will he be able to let her go?

Anna Zaires is my one of my favorite authors. I love her dark romances! Krinar Captive is the first SciFi audiobook of hers that I’ve listened to. It is a standalone book, but is an offshoot of the Krinar series. I loved this audiobook! It’s the perfect blend of romance and science fiction. This audiobook is filled with suspense and intrigue and moves along at a quick pace.

Roberto Scarlato narrates this nearly 9-hour audiobook and he does an awesome job on this fully voiced production. His delivery and pacing was perfect. Roberto was expressive when reading each character. His energy level matches the action when narrating intense scenes.

I have listened to several books by author Anna Zaires that Roberto Scarlato has narrated and I think they are a perfect match and look forward to hearing more from this duo.

Emily and Zaron

This story was feakin' awesome! I loved that we get to see what happened before K day before Korum and Mia met. It was really cool to get to see a new Krinar Zaron and that Korum makes an appearance. I found it hilarious that Korum doesn't understand Zaron's want to have Emily as a Charl and yet we the reader know that he will eventually take Mia as his Charl so that's really fun. The connection between Zaron and Emily is freakin' hot! They are just meant to be together. The book ends with them leaving for Krina. I hope there might be a book in the future about one of the couples lives on the Krinar home planet.

Roberto Scarlato does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. I really enjoyed his narration.

I have fallen in love with Zaron

I loved this book. The way the story evolved around them getting to know each other and and falling in love was outstanding. I just love a man that gets possesive. I highly recommend this book. Steam factor 8 stars.

Another great Krinar story!

Though I'd already fell in love with Korum and Mia in Close Liasons, I fell just as hard for Zaron and Emily! I loved the story line and the characters, set in the time just before the earlier books. It was a real Love story, written and narrated so very well! Well worth listening to and well worth the money. I adore the narrator and his expressive style. A++

AWESOME STORY, AWESOME NARRATION

Would you listen to The Krinar Captive again? Why?

YES!!! this is the first book I've read by this author and this narrator and I love it. The story line is entertaining and adventuresome, with well developed characters that I totally enjoyed. And the narration is so excellent, it only enhances the overall experience.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Krinar Captive?

My favorite memorable moment was when Zoran decided to go get Emily from NYC and bring her home.

Which character – as performed by Roberto Scarlato – was your favorite?

Zoran was my favorite... his voice is so lush a dripping with masculinity... it is just plain HOT!!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES YES YES...... but I did have to sleep in between, however I did thoroughly enjoy this author's excellent writing.

Any additional comments?

Now that I know how good this author is, I am looking forward to many more enjoyable hours of reading/listening to her books.
This would have been a FIVE STAR book if it had included any discipline scenes.

Nope

"Hero" is sexually aggressive ick-face
"heroine" is unreasonable idiot with no personality

the only reason they like each other is physical. Boring and nope

truly bad

The narrator was terrible, the story was not only awful but also repetitive, and the sex was too graphic and disgusting. This story was recommended by a friend so even after quitting early and removing from my device I relented and continued. I hoped it would redeem itself but it turned out to be a waste of time. Don't bother.

Another awesome krinar story

it was very touching and believable, I didn't want it to end. They both lost someone dear and so neither one is carrying less baggage
