Publisher's summary

Deep in the shadowy foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains lies a dying town....

My name is Amelia Gray. They call me The Graveyard Queen. I've been commissioned to restore an old cemetery in Asher Falls, South Carolina, but I'm coming to think I have another purpose here.

Why is there a cemetery at the bottom of Bell Lake? Why am I drawn time and again to a hidden grave I've discovered in the woods? Something is eating away at the soul of this town - this withering kingdom - and it will only be restored if I can uncover the truth.

great story.

Great story. I'm very much caught up with Amelia and her struggle to find her place in life. The mystery aspect is interesting in this book as well as the first one. I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

Second Book in Series Delivers Chills

'The Kingdom' is the second book of Amanda Steven's 'Graveyard Queen' series. This gothic novel continues the story of Amelia Grey who restores old southern graveyards. She also has the ability to see ghosts. In this book, Amelia finds out the truth about this ability as she works to restore the old cemetery in Asher Falls, South Carolina which is in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This story brought chills to my spine. The secrets of the spooky small town, the frightened townspeople that inhabit this town, the back story of the previous book in this series work together well to create the eerie feelings necessary to bring my mind to such a place.

For the most part the continuity, the ability of this author to get me to suspend disbelief is done very well but occasionally it just barely missed causing me to have questions; overall, though, I thought this story engrossing and believable.

i recommend this book for those who enjoy reading horror and suspense.

book 2 in the series

This is book 2 of the Graveyard Queen series and so far it is getting better. I can't wait to start book 3 and see where Ananda Steven's takes us next. In this book Amelia's lineage was revealed, but that is all I am gonna say.

Another intriguing storyline

This series is very well written and very well narrated. There's a lot of mystery, supernatural experiences and discovery of true origin. Book 2 pretty flawlessly sews together the seams left purposefully agape in Book 1. I've read a lot of reviews of lackluster romance disappointment but a forbidden first love awaits her return in Book 3.

I am really enjoying this series

I really like this series I hope that Devlin comes back in the next book I think him and Amelia would be great together. This delves a bit more into Amelia and how she came to be. I loved it.

This one is scarier than the first

I was disappointed that Devlin was not a major player in this book. However, it explained a lot about Amelia's background and why she can see ghost. I found this book scarier than the first and can't wait to start the third one!
