Good Followup Book for the Series

What made the experience of listening to The Darkest Kiss the most enjoyable?

I like the narrator he really did an excellent job with the different characters. I loved the way the author kept the storyline interesting with the different play of words and jokes. The main character Anya is fun and funny at the same time shows vunerability that is believable. The things that she has to go through to get the attention of her man is wonderful however at times it can become a little frustrating.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved both Anya and Lucien. Mainly Anya is the light weight of the story with keeping the story light when her beau Lucien is serious for the most part and she brings fun to his character.

Which character – as performed by Max Bellmore – was your favorite?

Anya mainly because she at times is a complex character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

I Highly recommend all the Lords of the Underworld

I love this series! If you enjoy paranormal romance then look no further....this series is GREAT!

Good, though a bit confusing

The first book in this series was really good except that I thought the main characters were a bit too into their own minds and there wasn't a lot of description of action. This book was much better with that aspect and it made it a much better book overall.

The thing that made this confusing to me was that there were jumps from one 'scene' with a set of characters to another 'scene' with different characters. These were run together closely enough to be both confusing and startling. I'm not sure if this was a narrator problem or if Gena Showalter could have done a better job delineating scenes.

Either way, it wasn't bad enough to make me dislike the book so I definitely recommend this series.

One other thing, most romance-type novels seem to be read by female narrators. I find Max Bellmore's voice lends a depth to the reading that I don't get with female readers. I really enjoy listening to him on these books.

Lucien and Anya

Lucien and Anya are too of my favorite heroes! Their story was flowed so well, I blinked and the book was over. Lucien was strong and patient, just what every women wants! There is no way Anya, being the smart sexy gooddess that she is, could have passed him up.

This was amazing and is a must read. The passion and the action are never ending and makes you want to keep listening to the story. This is a must read!

I'm not wild about the voice the narrator chooses for the major featured male character. They nealy sound

I love this series... Can't wait to get to the NEXT book in the series! The narraters do such I good job... Doing both parts of a woman & man. I feel what the characters feel... Their narrating so detailed and emotional!

Intense, satisfying read.

The narrator did a great job. He was easy to understand and gave life to the characters.

The story itself was entrancing. I found myself invested in the characters and their struggles. I found myself cheering them on, rolling my eyes when they did something dumb, and chuckling at some of their antics. Anya endeared herself to me the most. She frequently made me chuckle. I love how she is both fierce yet vulnerable. Her nicknames for Lucian had me rolling.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good paranormal romance with luscious warriors and feisty heroines.
