Informative

While this book was not as good as the others in the series it provides a lot of background information. It still had an interesting story line and an unexpected ending. I think it is worth listening too so as to put the other books in perspective.

Great short story for Lords fans!

This is a great prequel to the Lords of the Underworld series. It's not a requirement for the LOTU series but it was a great companion read.

Go Ahead and Read it

Any additional comments?

First off you don???t have to read this book to understand the series. It isn???t the best book in the series but it was worth a listen. If you are as spellbound by this series as I am, this book will squash the curiosity bug. After I read the first book I wondered about the story that started the avalanche of the Lords beginning. Several questions I had formed about the Lords were answered in this book and I do recommend reading it, but after reading book 1 The Darkest Night. The reason being that if you read The Darkest Fire first you might not fully appreciate the theme of sacrificing for love and how the emotion creates strength rather than weakness. I really like these books and give the series 2 thumbs up.

You'll never forget this story!

What did you love best about The Darkest Fire?

The couple took care of business.

What other book might you compare The Darkest Fire to and why?

There is no comparison. The end of the book was so darn memorable - I started reading the series too enjoy the boldnest of these type of endings

Which scene was your favorite?

Fight the demons, find a cave to hide in, have sex, leave the cave, keep fighting...How cool is that?

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I sat and thought about this book and how it played out...extreme ending

Interesting but reallllyyyyy cheesy...

Would you try another book from Gena Showalter and/or Max Bellmore?

Yes. The Lords of the Underworld series is interesting. I love the mix and matching of modern times with mythology. Max Bellmore has a great voice.

Would you ever listen to anything by Gena Showalter again?

Yes. I have...and plan to.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Not really. I had a hard time adjusting to him. He has such an elegant voice and the stories have a lot of humor that you don't immediately pick up on because he's so eloquent.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Darkest Fire?

The love story...really. Weird.

Any additional comments?

It was really sappy but some people really enjoy that kind of thing.
