Journalism graduate student, Kate McDermott, is a good girl who has done everything she can to please her very powerful and domineering father - a Justice on New York's Supreme Court with hopes for political office. When she decides to write an article about BDSM in popular culture, she tells herself it's just research and nothing personal for she can't afford to become the target of gossip or scandal. She hopes that the carefully worded agreement she writes up will keep her relationship with the Dominant she will interview strictly professional. Then 'Master D' - Drake Morgan - walks into the interview and Kate is mortified for not only is he gorgeous, he's the son of her father's best and oldest friend, Drake Morgan, MD, bass player, philanthropist - Dominant. Known as Master 'D' in Manhattan's BDSM Community, Drake must keep the kinky side of his life secret to protect his very successful career as a neurosurgeon. After a heartbreaking divorce, Drake doesn't do girlfriends, he doesn't do sleepovers, and he certainly doesn't do breakfast in bed the morning after. He keeps everything in his well-ordered life separate and under his firm control. Then Kate McDermott crosses his path and screws everything up. Now, nothing is neat and tidy anymore, and no longer under control for Drake is smitten and things are going to get messy. Now, in the weeks before they leave for Africa, Drake takes Kate more deeply into the D/s lifestyle. In the process, the walls between them continue to crumble as they explore each other physically and emotionally and they fall even more deeply in love. But before they can even leave Manhattan, the past returns unexpectedly to challenge their blossoming relationship. Is Kate and Drake's commitment to each other strong enough to stand the test? By the USA Today Bestselling Romance author S. E. Lund, The Commitment is the much-anticipated sequel to The Agreement, Book One of the Unrestrained Series. 18+ only.

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Blast. I purchased the first in the series for only $1.99 as an audible upgrade and got the ebook free. I have even purchased additional ebooks in the series since they aren't out on audible yet. This is an excellent story, especially if you enjoyed the Fifty Shades of Grey series. Emma Wilder has done an excellent job narrating this series and brought the characters and story to life. It is heart wrenching, joyful, and lots of anticipation with twists and turns so you never know what will happen next. I am truly enjoying this series and can't wait for rest to be released on audible. The writing is excellent and a joy to read/listen.
Too busy to read as much as I'd like, Audible is the perfect solution. I'm a romance reader mostly, but can stray into any story.
I can't say enough good things about this series and more specifically this book. I have been dying for a continuation of this story and SE Lund is my favorite person in the world right now because she managed to continue the story, while also bringing new elements so it doesn't lose your attention.
And Emma Wilder... Well. She is just the most perfect person for this job. I love her voices and most of all I love how she sounds like she could be the main characters and is just so fitting.
I'm losing all my words because I'm on such a book high. Scoop it up people!!

I love this series. The continuation of the series with book two, take us a little further into the relationship of Kate and Drake. As they prepare to go to Africa, many things are happening. They are completing tasks, putting their American life on hold and packing. Little did they know how their pasts would creep into their life prior to their departure. Would there love be able to stand the test?
I find Kate's younger age at times to definitely be a deterrent. Drake has to be incredibly patient and reassuring to her. At the same time, I see Drake's insecurity as well and want to shake him! Their relationship evolves and it is like we are on the journey with them. While not too dark, but not too vanilla, this story is incredibly addicting.
Emma Wilder continues an incredible narration. I love her voices and have come to equate her with this story.

Yes, I loved how Drake learned to bend for his lady.
I like the way it deals with public opinion. how the characters deal with the stereotypes.
I dont have a specific favourite.
Dr Dangerous finds his significant other
Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. - Plato
I listened to the first book in this series and ready enjoyed it! I was looking forward to this book but it had so much drama that it actually made it a little difficult for me to listen.
There are some really unreasonable people on this book and it was hard to understand why they were acting the way they did. Some parts just made me mad. I hate when several people in a story keep acting stupid.
I don't want to spoil the story for anyone but his ex-wife was totally out of line. She wanted help but treated him awful after all Drake did for her! So wrong of her to do what she did. If I say anymore I'll give away some important parts!
Kate's supposed "Best Friend" is nothing but trouble. Her lack of respect for Kate is uncalled for. I know she cares for Kate but she is a broken record! So annoying.
On a good note, Kate's relationship with her Dad keeps flourishing.
I really enjoyed this book's conclusion! It actually took me by surprise!
The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in the series and I had the misfortune of not reading or listening to the first, so I was at a disadvantage. I was able to make assumptions or fill in details with my imagination, so despite this, the story was good.
The story is about the deepening of the relationship between the two main characters. There are descriptive BDSM scenes. I typically like romance with an alpha male twist but this was a true dominant/submissive relationship. But outside of the bedroom, the characters seems to respect each other and the storyline was interesting.
Enjoy reading fiction, thrillers (JD Robb), romance, military and comedy (Evanovich). Listen to Audiobooks on treadmill and long road trips!
Mediocre story, could've been tightened up/shortened a bit. Narration good.

Let me Start by saying that I really enjoyed book 1. I had high expectations for this one, but was left frustrated and somewhat unsatisfied. This book could be summed up with "the battles of life and being in a relationship". It starts out kind of boring, then we get more drama from Kate's "friend" who is such a great friend....not!!! Seriously I was so maddened by Kate's behavior in this book. Who takes this kind of behavior from a friend? Through the whole book Kate makes stupid immature decisions, listening to her friend, hiding things from Drake, etc. I just couldn't stand it. I wanted to smack her! I guess I just have enough drama in my life that a book solely focused on drama just irritates me. Not sure where the BDSM fits in, there was verrrrrry little BDSM in there. They referenced to it, just didn't really perform it. Supposedly drakes a Dom but we never see him dominate, they just talk about it. I always feel bad leaving negative reviews, but I also think others should be aware. I personally wouldn't have spent a credit on it. :(
This book was long on heat but short on story. I found it to be a very steamy read but the story behind they heat. This book was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
Sure, it would probably be a good second listen if I needed a book to listen to.
There were a lot of realistic insecurities.
Her soft voice emphasized the insecure thoughts Kate had. I liked the way she was able to bring out Kate's thoughts.
I don't know.

I felt a little lost several times along the way but it was still an enjoyable book to listen to.
