Journalism graduate student, Kate McDermott, is a good girl who has done everything she can to please her very powerful and domineering father - a Justice on New York's Supreme Court with hopes for political office. When she decides to write an article about BDSM in popular culture, she tells herself it's just research and nothing personal for she can't afford to become the target of gossip or scandal. She hopes that the carefully worded agreement she writes up will keep her relationship with the Dominant she will interview strictly professional. Then 'Master D' - Drake Morgan - walks into the interview and Kate is mortified for not only is he gorgeous, he's the son of her father's best and oldest friend, Drake Morgan, MD, bass player, philanthropist - Dominant. Known as Master 'D' in Manhattan's BDSM Community, Drake must keep the kinky side of his life secret to protect his very successful career as a neurosurgeon. After a heartbreaking divorce, Drake doesn't do girlfriends, he doesn't do sleepovers, and he certainly doesn't do breakfast in bed the morning after. He keeps everything in his well-ordered life separate and under his firm control. Then Kate McDermott crosses his path and screws everything up. Now, nothing is neat and tidy anymore, and no longer under control for Drake is smitten and things are going to get messy. Now, in the weeks before they leave for Africa, Drake takes Kate more deeply into the D/s lifestyle. In the process, the walls between them continue to crumble as they explore each other physically and emotionally and they fall even more deeply in love. But before they can even leave Manhattan, the past returns unexpectedly to challenge their blossoming relationship. Is Kate and Drake's commitment to each other strong enough to stand the test? By the USA Today Bestselling Romance author S. E. Lund, The Commitment is the much-anticipated sequel to The Agreement, Book One of the Unrestrained Series. 18+ only.

Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. - Plato
I listened to the first book in this series and ready enjoyed it! I was looking forward to this book but it had so much drama that it actually made it a little difficult for me to listen.
There are some really unreasonable people on this book and it was hard to understand why they were acting the way they did. Some parts just made me mad. I hate when several people in a story keep acting stupid.
I don't want to spoil the story for anyone but his ex-wife was totally out of line. She wanted help but treated him awful after all Drake did for her! So wrong of her to do what she did. If I say anymore I'll give away some important parts!
Kate's supposed "Best Friend" is nothing but trouble. Her lack of respect for Kate is uncalled for. I know she cares for Kate but she is a broken record! So annoying.
On a good note, Kate's relationship with her Dad keeps flourishing.
I really enjoyed this book's conclusion! It actually took me by surprise!
The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life.

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Blast. I purchased the first in the series for only $1.99 as an audible upgrade and got the ebook free. I have even purchased additional ebooks in the series since they aren't out on audible yet. This is an excellent story, especially if you enjoyed the Fifty Shades of Grey series. Emma Wilder has done an excellent job narrating this series and brought the characters and story to life. It is heart wrenching, joyful, and lots of anticipation with twists and turns so you never know what will happen next. I am truly enjoying this series and can't wait for rest to be released on audible. The writing is excellent and a joy to read/listen.
Too busy to read as much as I'd like, Audible is the perfect solution. I'm a romance reader mostly, but can stray into any story.
I can't say enough good things about this series and more specifically this book. I have been dying for a continuation of this story and SE Lund is my favorite person in the world right now because she managed to continue the story, while also bringing new elements so it doesn't lose your attention.
And Emma Wilder... Well. She is just the most perfect person for this job. I love her voices and most of all I love how she sounds like she could be the main characters and is just so fitting.
I'm losing all my words because I'm on such a book high. Scoop it up people!!

I love this series. The continuation of the series with book two, take us a little further into the relationship of Kate and Drake. As they prepare to go to Africa, many things are happening. They are completing tasks, putting their American life on hold and packing. Little did they know how their pasts would creep into their life prior to their departure. Would there love be able to stand the test?
I find Kate's younger age at times to definitely be a deterrent. Drake has to be incredibly patient and reassuring to her. At the same time, I see Drake's insecurity as well and want to shake him! Their relationship evolves and it is like we are on the journey with them. While not too dark, but not too vanilla, this story is incredibly addicting.
Emma Wilder continues an incredible narration. I love her voices and have come to equate her with this story.

The story was steamy, captivating, and well written. I appreciate the details the author includes. For example, the use of correct technical or medical terminology and explanations, which elevates the work, making the story that much more believable. The narrator was perfect as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed book one and then book two just didn't have the same feel to it. I felt like this one was a repeat story of another book I've read. I'm glad I got this book for free and didn't have to pay for it.
I loved this book. It was more stories than one. Every change of circumstance made me keep listening. I wish Dawn could have realized she was wrong about the lifestyle.
The narration was beautiful. I just wish the story didn't have to end.
Having listened to and enjoyed the first part of this series, I was interested to see how the relationship evolved between Kate and Dr Morgan.
Emma Wilder continues to do an excellent job narrating this series and brought the characters and story to life. Part 2 is a bit of a roller coaster and I didn't know what was going to happen next, which is a sign of a good story in my book
It was on the long side for me, but the writing and narration was interesting enough to keep me engaged to the end - which I didn't see coming! I look forward to the next part of the series

Yes, I loved how Drake learned to bend for his lady.
I like the way it deals with public opinion. how the characters deal with the stereotypes.
I dont have a specific favourite.

"More of the same from The Agreement"
If you enjoyed The Agreement, it is probable you will enjoy the Commitment also. It's more of the same. Overall I enjoyed reading it, but perhaps it was more of the same from the first book and became a little tedious. I do want to complete the series, but intend to take a break and read something else first.
Touch, moved to tears at times. Great story, creator's - whoem I'll what to meet...
